On this week's episode of Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Homestead, Florida to makeover Amistad Grill. Amistad Grill is a restaurant that has a Uruguayan twist on dishes that is owned by the Barreiros family. The owner Omar is constantly scolding his wife and daughter in the restaurant due to trust issues and the stress of the restaurant is tearing the family apart. Robert Irvine will need to inspire Omar to slow down and listen to his family, along with cooking with a passion in hopes of making the restaurant a success.
As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Amistad Grill to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):
- "This restaurant is great from the customer service to the food. The food is delicious and my go to cafe con leche daily."
- "Food is great I ordered steak and eggs and my husband ordered an omelette. Fast service, clean restaurant and bathroom is clean also. Staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Veronica our server. Highly recommend!"
- "A great restaurant with a very helpful and nice staff. We had a wonderful breakfast with really good coffee. Their menu offers a great and tasty variety. It is a gem! We highly recommend it."
- "A hidden gem! Very clean and tidy inside, food was great and so are the prices :) my mom showed me this restaurant and I was shocked at how nice it was inside. I just wish they had vegetarian entrees"
- "We were a party of two couples on our way from the Keys back to catch a flight from Ft. Lauderdale. We went a little bit out of our way to go to this restaurant based on the previous reviews and we were very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was pleasant and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Several of us ordered empanadas, one a burger and one a quesadilla. They were all excellent but the sauces that were served were very special. Overall we had an excellent experience at a very affordable price!"
- "We had a wonderful lunch…exceptional service and atmosphere, everyone so friendly. One of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Every entree ordered by our family was delicious!! Highly recommend."
- "We found this place googling restaurants near the Miami Homestead raceway, as we were coming into town from Naples and needed lunch before the event at track. I read the other reviews and we sat down inside this adorable “hidden gem.” Very clean, Staff were so friendly and attentive and patient, and food was great. Just took one pic of chicken quesadilla. The burger was amazing, my son started eating it too quickly for me to get a pic! If we are ever in the area again I will 100% support this family run business."
- "Wow! What an amazing experience my family and I had at Amistad Grill. Everything on the menu we ordered was delicious. The empanadas to the tortellini pasta, the chicken parm and pineapple cheesecake are a must try! The owners are kind, caring and provide a service from the heart. Looking forward to coming back soon!"

Conclusion:
The reviews for Amistad Grill since the Restaurant Impossible makeover have all been positive with people liking the food, coffee, atmosphere, and staff. This is one of the highest rated restaurants I have ever seen appear on Restaurant: Impossible and the reviews before the makeover were also positive. A lot of the reviews refer to Amistad Grill as a "hidden gem," so the appearance on the show should allow more people to find out about it.
