Variety recently reported that Bobby Flay and Food Network are parting ways after his current contract expires at the end of the year. They were negotiating a new contract and could not agree on financial terms due to both sides being far apart. They apparently broke off negotiations and Bobby Flay will be leaving the company after 27 years if a new contract is not reached.
People later reported that Bobby Flay wanted a $100 million contract, though the amount of years were not known. Guy Fieri reportedly signed a three-year $80 million deal with Food Network earlier in the year, which was probably used by Flay's representatives during negotiations.
I don't think there is any bad blood between Bobby Flay and Food Network as he was still filming Beat Bobby Flay after the news of the negotiations falling apart. So even if a new deal isn't reached, there will probably be new episodes of Beat Bobby Flay that will air after the year is over.
Do you think a deal will eventually be reached or do you think Bobby Flay's time on Food Network is over?
UPDATE - A new three-year deal was reached to keep Bobby Flay on Food Network. (Link)
