Tonight on Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Louisville, Tennessee to makeover The Anchor. The Anchor is a restaurant located on the water and there is tension between the owner and his daughter. She used to work at the restaurant but ended up going to work for another restaurant due to the tension. Robert needs to fix their relationship and the restaurant in order to turn things around.
As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about The Anchor to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):
Positive Reviews:
- "Place isn't bad at all. Wish they had a bigger seafood menu. Basically burgers and such but the food was good and the red headed waitress was awesome!!!! Took very good care of us."
- "The service, food, and atmosphere is both relaxing and enjoyable. The night we were there the live music was amazing. Looking forward to the next time!"
- "Great food, great service and really cool atmosphere. Highly recommended place to go grab a bite!"
- "Had dinner with friends Wednesday evening, it was a great experience. We had probably 25 people or so and our server was on top of everything all night, with a smile and amazing attitude. The food was great and the service was great! I would definitely recommend this place."
- "Great place to go and blow off some steam the best ribs for miles...good music and great service!"
- "Great atmosphere, great people. We had a wonderful time eating there as a group. Make sure to try the ribs!!!"
- "Talk about a great time. One of the best locations to bring your family or business associates. They had live music the night we was there. I have the Steak and prawns and was cooked perfectly, served quickly with a friendly smile I will be back."
- "This place is hoping on Friday nights with Junior’s Karaoke. The smoked wings are fantastic! The desserts are great too!"
- "5 stars all the way. After stopping in for a meal with my family we're kicking ourselves for not coming here sooner. The place was very nicely decorated, we especially loved the well lit nautical map behind the bar. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. We also had the honor of meeting the owner who seemed like a very nice gentleman. We will definitely be back."
- "I am absolutely loving to new and improved menu with all fresh items made to order. The newly remodeled dining area is warm and inviting. I can't wait for the completion of the rest of the remodeling....It's a great place to hang out and grab a beer and some great food for us locals, and we welcome our neighbors from the surrounding counties to come and join us at the Anchor at Louisville Landing."
Negative Reviews:
- "We had high hopes for this place since it's one of the few restaurants on the lake, we were sorely disappointed! Went on a Sunday at 1:00, we were the only people there. Should have been clue number number one. Second clue, the girls running the Marina office ordered take out food from Panera instead of from here. So, pros- beer was cold and cheap, $3 ultra bottle $4 sweet water draft, server was friendly, liked the decor. Cons- food! Fish tacos- fish was rubbery, coleslaw was pinkish orange (not even sure what would cause this?!), malt vinegar Mayo bad choice with a Mayo based slaw served on way too big of tortillas for the amount of filling, fries were luke warm and flavorless. Smoked wings- I guess they were deep fried to reheat but way over cooked, tasted like they were cooked day before and reheated in fryer, no smoke taste at all. Hubby said they were the worse wings he's ever had, and he eats a lot of wings! He ordered a side of the Cole slaw which was inedible. Another con is the bathroom situation, which management probably can't control, but you have to walk outside up the hill to the public marina bathroom. Not an ideal situation at anytime but especially if we had been there when it was dark. Unfortunately we will not be back. So disappointing to have a place in a prime location on the lake and with such bad food."
