Mr. B's Southern Kitchen - Restaurant Impossible Update

Tonight on Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Tampa, Florida to makeover Mr. B's Southern Kitchen. Mr. B's Southern Kitchen is a struggling Southern restaurant and the struggle has caused sibling owners to feud.  Their failing restaurant is ruining their relationship and Robert Irvine needs to fix the restaurant as well as their relationship.

As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Mr. B's Southern Kitchen to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):

Positive Reviews:

• "Loved the owner and the atmosphere here ! Welcoming upon entrance ! My husband and I sat down and ate our lunch . The owner came up & talked to us as we were dining in . He told us about the renovations that just occurred to the restaurant & gave a little bit of history about himself ! The other staff was very polite & professional. The food was good . Honestly, it could go for a little bit more seasoning ... being from the country, I've had better tasting "soul food" but I still enjoyed it . I will eat here again !"
• "They made some recent renovations and changes in the kitchen that have made this little gem even better. My favorite are the oxtails. They fall off the bone and are loaded with flavor!!"
• "My husband and l we're headed home l decided l wanted soul food. Mr B's was recommended. I'm glad we made the stop in. The decor was just lovely. The atmosphere seemed serene. Everything was a nice as can be. The food was great, the service was great. I'll definitely return next time I'm in the area or just passing through."
• "Phenomenal soul food! I had the oxtail meal and it was fantastic! So well cooked and soooooo tender! The collard greens were delicious and the mac & cheese was good. The service was hands-down my favorite part. I was greeted so kindly and the hostess guided me through the menu as it was my first time. Negative Reviews:

• "Service is poor. The food is not much better. Asked for tea refill at least 6 times. Got desperate and asked three different people, two servers and a gentleman that may be Mr. B. All said yes pleasantly enough but I never got the tea. Our server, Brittany, never came back after taking the order. She was there but didn’t take time to see how we were doing. The oxtail was hot. Everything else was cold. Completely cold. The sides were bland and/or undercooked. It is a southern style restaurant but they don’t know how to cook grits. 😕 The sub par food coupled with poor service make the higher ticket price seem outrageous. Overall, not worth a second try."
• "Couldn't understand why this place had such low reviews on doordash until i got my order. It's really not worth it to order through doordash, Uber eats, or postmates. They upcharge a third of the menu price. I know all the restaurants charge more per item but my issue is a full $5 upcharge when the portion sizes don't match."

Conclusion:

The Restaurant Impossible makeover for Mr. B's Southern Kitchen happened just a few months ago, but the reviews so far have been mostly positive.  Customers like the food, atmosphere, and the new updates.  The restaurant seems to go by multiple names, but most people probably just refer to it as Mr. B's.

The postscript at the end of the show didn't come up, but it was supposed to say, "After Robert's visit, sales have increased 150% and plans are underway to add an outdoor dining patio. Ninkia now has more support running the kitchen and recently had her first local news interview representing Mr. B's. And the relationship between Calvin and Ninkia is stronger than ever." (Link)
