Tonight on Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Buffalo, New York to makeover Park Vue Soul Food Bar and Restaurant. Park Vue Soul Food is owned by mother and daughter Schenita Williams and Harrita West, who are trying to serve their community, but have no experience running a restaurant. Robert will try to give them the skills needed to help both their restaurant and their neighborhood.
As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Park Vue Soul Food Bar and Restaurant to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):
Positive Reviews:
- "Ordered chicken and sides, with a burger box but they were out and offered me a Catfish as replacement. Never really like catfish but it was phenomenal. Amazing food, it's just the wait!!!!!! It took too long, honestly my only complaint."
- "Food was excellent and service was on point. We went on a Friday night which was peak time. I would suggest if you're dining in to go early or make a reservation. I'll be back without a doubt."
- "Everything was good with the standouts being the chicken and greens. Really liked whatever they added to give the greens a spicy kick! The peach crumble for dessert was yummy as well and I definitely wanted more as it had me craving for Peach Cobbler afterwards. I didn't dine in, but the dining room also looked great after the renovation late last year."
- "Delicious food in newly renovated restaurant. Friendly and efficient service. I will definitely be back!"
Negative Reviews:
- "The food was good, but it took SOOOOOOOO long for it to get to us. We put in our order around 5, and the food didn't come until after 6:30. We used Door Dash and the first Door Dasher left the restaurant because they didn't have the order ready on time. :/ The fried chicken was super dry too, which was disappointing. Maybe this place is better in person, but it wasn't really the best experience for us."
- "Waited over a hour & 20 minutes for my food on a busy Saturday. Chicken was cooked in fish grease, according to my blind cousin. He stated that's all he smell is fish. Yams were good, greens were ok. Hard to park."
Other News and Links:
The reviews for Park Vue Soul Food Bar and Restaurant have been pretty positive since the Restaurant Impossible makeover. People seem to like the food and the renovation while there were some complaints about wait times for food. The restaurant initially took Robert's advice to add more hours, but they have been having trouble finding staff, so had to cut back. They are still currently looking for staff with hopes of expanding hours. A lot of restaurants around the country are having the same issue of finding staff as people can make more being on unemployment at the moment.
