As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Incredible Cafe to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):
Positive Reviews:
- "After a complete remake, with the help of a Food Network' Restaurant Impossible, the menu has been slimmed down, the kitchen redone, a fabulous chef installed, and the decor is renovated, all bright and open. After many, many years and meals, which we mostly enjoyed, our recent visits have moved to the outstanding level. This cafe now can compete with the other fine restaurants in the "downtown RB" stretch."
- "This place used to be pretty scruffy inside and was definitely in need of the recent remodel they got when they were visited by the rehab television show. The inside is now a cute farmhouse decor and much more open and inviting than before. The server was attentive and friendly, the overall vibe in this place still seemed slow though. The food took a little bit to come out but once it did it was pretty tasty. "
- " Nice on the inside, server mentioned they were going to be aired on restaurant impossible. Server was wonderful, and owner was super sweet. Staff came and sang Happy Birthday to my son with cake. He loved it. The food was delicious and portions huge!! Definitely will be back!!"
- "Love this place. We have been coming here 2-3 times a week for the last year or so. The new decor is warm and cozy. Food is still as good as ever. Hash browns are the best I've ever tasted and my husband agrees. The staff here is incredibly friendly."
- "Excellent service and atmosphere. Went for breakfast and was impressed with the creative menu items. The food was fresh and delicious. The hash browns were probably the best I've had. My friend's amigo omelette was excellent. House made chorizo was fantastic. Highly recommended!"
- "Wow! A recent make over by Restaurant Impossible has transformed the ambiance and food making this a hands-down favorite for our family. Robert Irvine's magic is palpable and the new executive chef is very talented. I've been to this restaurant many times over the years, and I'm so happy I stopped in. The garden omlet was delicious, and there are now kimchi and other Korean delicacies on the menu that I'm anxious to try."
- "Liked this place before, but LOVE it now! The remodel is adorable. The staff and service have always been great. Now it's more pleasantly fitting with the atmosphere. They have a mix match of coffee mugs that add to that homey feel."
- "This place is awesome, and has been for years. They recently updated their menu and decor, and now it's even a nicer place to eat, or just hang out for coffee. (The coffee is great!)..The food is (and always has been) phenomenal. Hint: order one of the specials. The new menu is just as good with Korean options mixed in....With the recent remodel, the restaurant space is more open and friendly. The menu was updated to show Liz's (the owner's) Korean heritage. The staff is friendly and attentive, and willing to substitute (or offer suggestions) for your order."
- "Love the redesign! Can't wait to see the airing of the show. Miss the Liz breakfast options but they said their menu is still changing"
Negative Reviews:
- "First time to this restaurant even though we live in RB. New decor is very nice, but this restaurant is way too expensive. My friend that I came with used to come all the time before the renovation and her bill was almost double what they used to pay. The 2 stars is because they brought me the wrong omelette, which I was just going to eat instead of sending it back, until I noticed the dark HAIR on top. So they made me a new one, which of course meant everyone else was eating before me...but didn't even take the $14 omelet off the bill! I used to be in food service, and that should have been automatic...including a manager coming to the table...but none of that happened! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't come back here again. It's too bad because there aren't many good breakfast places in RB."
- "The new and modern decor inside is cute. The menu is extensive so there's a lot of options. So why the 3 stars? - prices are on the high side for the quality and portion ($12 for a small omelet with hash browns and a piece of toast) - food was average (there was too much grease on the omelet and toast and the hash browns had no taste) A great breakfast concept especially since there's not a lot of options nearby but they need to work on the quality of the food, especially if they're going to justify the high prices."
- "I went here with my family and the food was extremely oily and the service wasn't very good. The table was not set properly and the food is not worth spending the money on. I would not recommend this restaurant."
- "Went after grand opening. Prices are a lot higher now than before. Makes me sad cause I wont go as often as I used to which was every Sunday. Now maybe once a month if that."
