Happy New Year!  Here are some of the highlights of the Food Network programming scheduled to air on the channel in January:


  • Guy’s Grocery Games: DDD Family Tournament starting Wednesday, January 2nd at 9pm.

First, Guy Fieri welcomes Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives families to Flavortown for the tournament premiere of Guy’s Grocery Games: DDD Family Tournament on Wednesday, January 2nd at 9pm. Next, Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence welcome a new batch of hapless recruits to whip into shape on the season premiere of Worst Cooks in America on Sunday, January 6th at 9pm. Next, 12 talented young bakers enter the kitchen with the hopes of impressing Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman on a new season of Kids Baking Championship premiering Monday, January 7th at 9pm. Then, at 10pm, Giada De Laurentiis hosts brand-new competition series, Winner Cake All, with four of the best cake-baking teams in the country facing off each episode to create epic cakes for clients such as TLC’s The Busbys, Rashad Jennings, Apolo Ohno and more. Premiering Thursday, January 3rd at 10pm – “Sprouting Victory”
Canadian chef Lawrence Letrero matches wits with Ohio’s Jack Moore for the chance at Bobby Flay. Worst Cooks in America‘s Anne Burrell and Chopped‘s Scott Conant, who share a love of big hair and watching Bobby lose, conspire to bring home the win.
Premiering Thursday, January 10th at 10pm – “Take Him to Fresno”
Atlanta chef Chad Clevenger and Puerto Rican-born chef Anita Cartagena are prepped and ready to battle it out in the arena. Chopped‘s Alex Guarnaschelli and actor Ben Rappaport referee this heavyweight fight for the chance to take on Bobby Flay.
Premiering Thursday, January 17th at 10pm – “Getting Nutty”
Food sensations Michael Voltaggio and Laura Vitale join forces to teach Bobby Flay a thing or two. They bring along University of Houston chef Alex Brugger and Miami-born Tatiana Rosana to school Bobby on a lesson in defeat!
Premiering Thursday, January 24th at 10pm – “Don’t Drop the Beat (Bobby)!”
Iron Chef Michael Symon and Brooke Shields band together to take Bobby Flay down. With Italian chef and restaurateur Carla Pellegrino and Atlanta’s Idris Muhammad on their side, Bobby will be singing a different tune.
Premiering Thursday, January 31st at 10pm – “Game On”
Eddie Jackson teams up with Anne Burrell for a game day bout with Bobby Flay. They recruit Massachusetts native Ashley Gaboriault and award-winning Las Vegas chef Jeff Henderson to score big against Bobby.

Chopped
Premiering Tuesday, January 1st at 9pm – “Bar Fight”
Four bartenders who love to cook compete in this special competition to prove that barkeeps know how to keep the flavors coming. An outrageous cocktail is the centerpiece of a fun first basket, and in the entrée round, a potato dish prompts two of the contenders to grab more spuds from the pantry. The pressure is on in the final round when the two remaining bartenders must make the best desserts they can with a trendy drink and a classic pie.

Premiering Tuesday, January 8th at 9pm – “Nourish and Flourish”
The chefs get foods that heal in the ingredient baskets and have to make dishes that are both yummy and healthy. A little fish packed with nutrients is the star of the appetizer basket, but will it go well with the rest of the mystery ingredients? Following some frantic moments at the end of the entrée round, the judges must decide whether a competitor’s ill-advised decision to slice beef tenderloin is a deal breaker. In the dessert round, the final two chefs race to make plates that include nuts and berries.

Premiering Tuesday, January 15th at 9pm – “Deadly Catch”
The chefs face an adrenaline-packed competition filled with daunting seafood ingredients. A prized surprise awaits them in the first basket and a shocking salad meets a beautiful fish in the entrée round. Finally, the judges temper their expectations as the chefs face an extraordinarily tough dessert basket.

Premiering Tuesday, January 22nd at 9pm – “It’s a Sibling Thing”
Talented kid cooks compete with their brothers and sisters in an impressive show of cooperation in the Chopped Kitchen. The sibling teams uncover a strange pizza and some bitter greens in the appetizer basket. In round two, the judges find out if the kids have the chops to cook goat chops. Finally, a tropical fruit and a sugary cereal keep the kids on their toes in the dessert round.

Premiering Tuesday, January 29th at 9pm – “Game On!”
The chefs must cook a game-day feast and set out to tackle the challenge with gusto! In the first basket, they find a whimsical dish that looks like nachos. Three chefs then get to feel the rhythm of a drumsticks entrée round. Finally, a fusion snack meets a hybrid beverage in the dessert basket.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives & Triple D Nation
Premiering Friday, January 4th at 9pm – “Cultural Twist”
Guy Fieri dives into cultural cuisine with a twist! First, there’s a cafe that’s been serving scratch-made Scandinavian specialties in Salt Lake City since the 1950s. Next, there’s a pizza joint putting an Indian spin on the classic Italian pie. Finally, a funky Chinese-American mashup in New Orleans that dishes out their own spin on chicken along with cheeseburger fried rice.
Premiering Friday, January 11th at 9pm – “Triple D Nation: From the Sea”
Guy Fieri heads back to see what the Triple D Nation is cookin’ up from under the sea. For starters, an oyster shuckin’ shack is putting a new spin on an old favorite in the Big Easy. Plus, a family-run eatery has real-deal Italian from the pages of their grandmother’s cookbook in Geyserville, California. Finally, you won’t find any chips and salsa at this joint in Phoenix where Guy’s sister-from-another-mister is whipping up legit Mexican straight from south of the border.
Premiering Friday, January 18th at 9pm – “Triple D Nation: International Affair”
Guy Fieri is circling the globe starting in Salt Lake City where a Vietnamese sandwich shop has exploded with six locations around town. Then, in Minneapolis, an Italian pizza joint with Korean inspiration is spreading out across the city. In San Antonio, Texas, a Greek chef is whippin’ up real-deal Mexican for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Finally, a haus in Scottsdale, Arizona, that hasn’t missed a beat in their quest for true German flavor.
Premiering Friday, January 25th at 9pm – “Handy Helpings”
On this trip, Guy Fieri grabs a fistful of righteous hand-held toppings starting with a kolach cafe in Salt Lake City cooking up their Czech specialties with some sweetness and comfort. Next, Guy checks out a burger spot that’s adding beer to their beef and pattying up the pork. Finally, Guy hits a funky joint in Atlanta that’s putting out real-deal tacos.

Guy’s Grocery Games
Premiering Wednesday, January 2nd at 9pm – “DDD Family Tournament: Part 1″ – TOURNAMENT PREMIERE!
Food and family collide as Guy Fieri brings three DDD family duos to Flavortown to compete. First, they shop for ingredients using only their bare hands, and then one of Flavortown’s tallest and most infamous games determines the details of each team’s soup and sandwich pairing. The winning team gets $10,000 and moves on to the finale for a shot at bragging rights, the trophy and an additional $20,000.

Premiering Wednesday, January 9th at 9pm – “DDD Family Tournament: Part 2″
The tournament continues with families from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Guy Fieri is challenging these dynamic family duos to make classic culinary duos, starting with a list of key ingredients they must feature in their burgers and fries. Then, he flips a coin to decide which half of the store the teams can shop in. The winning DDD family duo gets $10,000 and the chance to beat two other teams in the finale for bragging rights, the trophy and $20,000.

Premiering Wednesday, January 16th at 9pm – “DDD Family Tournament: Part 3″
Guy Fieri brings three DDD family duos to compete in Flavortown for the last spot in the tournament finale. He gives them a weight limit as they shop for their fish and chips dish, and then they have to choose two samples to feature in pork chops and applesauce. The winning team gets $10,000 and moves on to the finale, where they must beat out two other teams to win bragging rights, the trophy and $20,000.

Premiering Wednesday, January 23th at 9pm – “DDD Family Tournament: Finale” – TOURNAMENT FINALE!
Three families compete in two games that will decide who wins the DDD Family Tournament and the $20,000 prize. Guy Fieri has two diner-style order wheels picking out which dishes the chefs must make and which games they must play … in both rounds!

Premiering Wednesday, January 30th at 9pm – “Big Game Day”
Four sports-loving chefs gear up for some tailgating, Flavortown-style. The first game has them shopping for appetizer ingredients in roller coolers, and then Guy Fieri holds a draft for the main ingredients in the chefs’ burgers. Finally, they play a game day classic to determine which key ingredient they must feature in their fried feast. Only one chef will come up clutch, beat the others and win a shopping spree worth up to $20,000.

Kids Baking Championship – Premiering Monday, January 7th at 9pm – SEASON PREMIERE!

Hosts and judges Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman test the baking chops of 12 young bakers as they guide them through a series of challenges. The kids face tasty tasks like making freaky flavor tarts and opposite cakes on their way to $25,000, a spot in Food Network Magazine and the title of Kids Baking Champion.
Premiering Monday, January 7th at 9pm – “Bakin’ with Bacon”
It’s no secret that Valerie Bertinelli loves lemon, but Duff Goldman‘s favorite ingredient is revealed in this season’s kick-off challenge — bacon cupcakes! Each of the 12 young bakers must make a cupcake featuring bacon and an assigned ingredient like maple, chocolate or cherry.
Premiering Monday, January 14th at 9pm – “Spots and Stripes Forever”
Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli take the 11 young bakers on a safari of sweetness as they challenge them to create mini cheesecakes with colorful animal prints, from tiger and zebra stripes to leopard and giraffe spots.
Premiering Monday, January 21st at 9pm – “Brownies vs. Blondies”
Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli raise the eternal question: Which are better, brownies or blondies? To settle the debate, they divide the 10 young bakers into teams for the brownies vs. blondies challenge.
Premiering Monday, January 28th at 9pm – “Macaron Madness”
Macarons are a wildly popular dessert, and macarons decorated with faces are a definite trend. Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman challenge the nine young bakers to create macarons decorated with happy faces and sad faces.

Winner Cake All – Premiering Monday, January 7th at 10pm – SERIES PREMIERE!

Four of the best cake-baking teams in the country face off in this competition hosted by Giada De Laurentiis. After a decoration challenge elimination round to create a cake topper based on a chosen theme, the remaining teams face a cake challenge, where Giada introduces a real-life client requesting a large, sculpted cake for an epic celebration. Each week the team that best captures the client’s dream cake in looks and taste — and impresses the judges — gets to take home the $10,000 grand prize.
Premiering Monday, January 7th at 10pm – “It’s a Busby Birthday”
Host Giada De Laurentiis and judges Kimberly Bailey and Valerie Gordon challenge four baking teams to make a cake decoration that shows the ultimate family celebration. After one team is eliminated, the remaining three teams meet their VIP clients, the Busby family from TLC’s OutDaughtered. America’s favorite quintuplets need an epic cake with puppies, unicorns and rainbows to serve at their 4th birthday party, but with more than 150 guests coming, the bakers are challenged to make a gigantic cake that pleases every member of the family. One team wins $10,000 and gets their cake served at the celebration.
Premiering Monday, January 14th at 10pm – “Darci Lynne’s Birthday”
Host Giada De Laurentiis and judges Yolanda Gampp and Zac Young challenge four of America’s best baking teams to create a kid’s toy cake decoration. One team is sent packing, and the remaining three teams meet their special VIP client for the second round, teen ventriloquist and winner of America’s Got Talent, Darci Lynne. She needs a cake for her 14th birthday sleepover party, so the bakers are challenged to make a cake that reflects her love of performing and features her puppets, Petunia and Oscar. The winning team wins $10,000 and the honor of serving their epic cake at Darci Lynne’s party.
Premiering Monday, January 21st at 10pm – “It’s a Broadway Princess Party”
Host Giada De Laurentiis and judges Damiano Carrara and Zac Young welcomes four top baking teams and challenges them to create a cake decoration that honors their favorite fairy tale. One team is sent home without a happily ever after, and the remaining three teams meet their VIP clients, the stars of Broadway Princess Party, Laura Osnes, Susan Egan and Courtney Reed. These princesses are marking the third year of their live concert series and need a cake to celebrate with the cast and crew, so the bakers must make cakes with glitz and glitter fit for royalty. One team wins $10,000 and the honor of serving their cake at a royal ball.
Premiering Monday, January 28th at 10pm – “It’s Game Day, Baby!”
Giada De Laurentiis challenges four of the best cake-making teams in America to make a cake decoration that exemplifies the thrill of victory. One team falls short of the win and must go home. The three remaining teams then meet their VIP client, former NFL player and Dancing with the Stars champ, Rashad Jennings. He’s is throwing a party to watch the big game with his family and friends, and he wants a cake to wow them. Each team creates a cake that combines Rashad’s love of football with his love of dance, and the winners take home $10,000 and get their cake served on game day.

Worst Cooks in America – Premiering Sunday, January 6th at 9pm – SEASON PREMIERE!

Chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence are back to lead teams of the worst cooks in America through a rigorous culinary boot camp. This high-stakes competition is full of new food-centric challenges, from egg roulette and meatball potato sack races to chaotic carnival food games and a fast-paced ingredient scavenger hunt. Anne and Tyler have their work cut out for them as they try to transform these kitchen zeroes to culinary heroes, but in the end, only one recruit can win the grand prize of $25,000.
Premiering Sunday, January 6th at 9pm – “The Perfect Bird”
Fifteen of the worst cooks in America enter boot camp with dreams of putting their kitchen nightmares behind them. Chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence want to see what they’re dealing with, so they begin by asking the recruits to make their signature dishes — a request with truly disastrous consequences! After being sorted into teams, the recruits must flock together like birds of a feather to make the perfect chicken dish. The recruits whose dishes don’t fly will be sent home.
Premiering Sunday, January 13th at 9pm – “Eggtastic”
The remaining recruits enter boot camp to find it has been transformed into a casino complete with a game of Egg Roulette. The chefs will teach their recruits a pancake recipe and ask them to recreate it before finding themselves traveling across the pond for an English-breakfast-inspired challenge. The chefs will then separate the good eggs from the bad ones before sending home each team’s least successful recruit.
Premiering Sunday, January 20th at 9pm – “Cowboy Cuisine”
The recruits enter boot camp and discover they will be going back to the basics with meat-and-potatoes challenges. First, they learn that cooking is about more than just taste in a Skill Drill that tests all five of their senses. Next, the chefs ask the recruits to create their own potato hash dish. Finally, the recruits must make a meat-based dish fit for a cowboy in the main dish challenge. Those who can hold onto their horses will continue on in boot camp while the others are sent home.
Premiering Sunday, January 27th at 9pm – “Meat Me at the Game”
The recruits must put on their game faces because it’s time for Game Day! First, the teams go head-to-head in a potato sack relay race to collect ingredients for game-day meatballs. They must then make their very own meatballs fit for tailgating. For the main dish challenge, the recruits learn how to make the perfect game-day sandwich and side dish. Those who score big will be named kitchen MVPs — those who fumble may be cut from their teams!

Pasta is an inexpensive way to feed a crowd and a blank canvas to dress up with great ingredients, so Giada De Laurentiis is hosting a pasta party buffet with leftovers that are hard to beat. Each dish on Giada’s menu features a different pasta shape and fresh ingredients. Her buffet spread includes Pasta with Creamy White Beans, Baked Pasta Rigatoni, Antipasto Salad with Crispy Orzo and Cacio e Pepe Gnocco Fritto.
Premiering Sunday, January 27th at 11:30am – “Family Style Sunday Dinner”
In Giada De Laurentiis‘ family, Sundays are set aside for family dinners. For a stress-free, traditional family dinner at home, Giada’s menu includes casual but hearty dishes like Baby Back Ribs with Spicy Peach BBQ Sauce, Spaghetti with Zucchini and Squash, Baby Lettuces with Shallot Vinaigrette and, for dessert, Chocolate Chocolate Chip Red Wine Bundt Cake.

Girl Meets Farm
Premiering Sunday, January 6th at 11am – “Healthy New Year”
Molly Yeh‘s sister-in-law, Anna, is visiting the farm with her new baby Cliff, and she’s asked Auntie Molly to make her favorite healthy meal. Molly gets to work making Hummus with Meat All Over It, homemade Whole Wheat Pita, Pita Salad with Tahini Dressing and, for dessert, Mint Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.
Premiering Sunday, January 13th at 11am – “Pizza Friday”
It’s Pizza Friday on the farm, and Molly Yeh and her husband, Nick, are hosting friends for dinner. Molly’s making two pizzas using the same delicious dough recipe: Sausage and Kale Pizza and Squash and Ricotta Pizza with fresh squash from the farm. She also makes a Pizza Parlor Salad with Chickpeas to get some greens in, and for dessert, she serves her easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake with Buttercream Frosting.
Premiering Sunday, January 20th at 11am – “Pantry Faves”
It’s a quiet weekend for Molly Yeh and her husband, Nick, on the farm, so Molly’s making an inexpensive lunch using her favorite pantry ingredients. She starts with Harissa-Braised Chickpeas with Feta and adds her super easy Yogurt Marinated Chicken Skewers. She also makes Smashed Cucumber Salad with Mint, Tahini Milkshakes and Peanut Butter Krispy Rice Squares with a few sprinkles.
Premiering Sunday, January 27th at 11am – “Chinese New Year”
Molly Yeh‘s family is flying in to celebrate Chinese New Year on the farm, and there will be quite a crowd to feed. Molly’s keeping it simple but special with Ginger Glazed Salmon, Carrot Steamed Buns, Peanut Butter Broccolini and, for dessert, her homemade Fortune Cookies.

Premiering Saturday, January 5th at 12:30pm – “Healthy and Easy”
After indulging in rich food on the road, Guy Fieri invites his chef friends to the ranch to balance things out with healthy dishes that don’t sacrifice flavor. Rocco DiSpirito makes an incredibly juicy but lean Straight Up Cheeseburger with low carb Better Than Mashed Potatoes and a Shrimp Gazpacho. Antonia Lofaso serves a Roasted Whole Branzino with Salsa Verde and Whipped Sweet Potatoes, and she flips some Paleo Pancakeswith bananas and berries. Finally, Aaron May mixes up a skinny Paloma Flaca cocktail and serves lightened-up Seared Scallops with Vanilla Citrus Confit and a Roasted Tomato and Eggplant Gratin.
Premiering Saturday, January 19th at 12:30pm – “Money-Saving Meals”
Guy Fieri believes you don’t need to break the bank to make delicious food, so he’s invited his chef friends to the ranch to cook a frugal meal that’s full of flavor. Aarti Sequeira makes a budget-friendly rice and lentil dish called Kichidi and some Sichuan-Style Broccoli with Sizzling Ginger Garlic Oil. The star of Aaron May‘s Chicken Thigh Fricassee is the flavorful and affordable cut of meat, and he keeps costs down and bellies full with crispy Hasselback Potatoes with Cheese. Rocco DiSpirito stirs up Homegrown Country Whiskey Sours to sip alongside Mushroom Dumplings and a succulent Pork Tenderloin with Pomegranate Glaze. Plus, Duff Goldmanmakes Hot Dog Bun Bruschetta with salami and melted cheese and performs magic with leftover Office Doughnut Bread Pudding.

Ree Drummond is getting ready for two busy days by preparing a variety of make-ahead marvels! For day one, she’s making Maple Sausage Breakfast Burritos for the guys to eat at a big cattle working and a Cobb-Wedge Salad Kit with Thousand Island Dressing to throw together for supper. For day two, there’s a great get-ahead dinner kit that includes Chicken, Red Pepper Sauce and Roasted Green Vegetable Medley.

Trisha’s Southern Kitchen
Premiering Saturday, January 5th at 12pm – “Harvest Challenge”
Spending three years on tour left Trisha Yearwood without her own garden, so she decided to sign up for a CSA box. Trisha loves fresh produce but can’t always grow it herself, so the box is a perfect way to keep her on track and support local farmers. She’s playing around with healthy recipes to feature the box contents, like Winter Ratatouille, Shrimp and Veggie Parchment Pouches and Farro with Caramelized Veggies. For a sweet finish, she makes Roasted Pears with honey herb yogurt.
Premiering Saturday, January 12th at 12pm – “Picnic at the Vineyard”
Trisha Yearwood is wining and dining her friends who are visiting from Las Vegas. They’re headed to Arrington Vineyards, co-owned by Trisha’s friend, country singer Kix Brooks, and Trisha makes a picnic of Roasted Beet and Dill Dip, Pasta Salad with dried apricots, walnuts, radicchio and a lemon honey dressing, Balsamic Chicken Lettuce Cups and Olive Oil Grape Cake. Kix picks a few bottles of wine that will go great in Trisha’s White Quick Sangria, and he and Trisha sing a country duet.
Premiering Saturday, January 19th at 12pm – “Feed a Firefighter”
Trisha Yearwood loves to support her local community, so she stops by the local firehouse to visit her buddy, Gary, and see if he and the other firefighters would enjoy a comforting meal. To feed the hungry crowd without breaking the bank, Trisha whips up some hearty, comforting crowd pleasers, including Marinated Veggie Salad, Dutch Oven Garlic Braised Beef, Smashed Red Potatoes with Herb Oil and, for a salty-sweet dessert, Bacon Potato Chip Brownies.
Premiering Saturday, January 26th at 12pm – “Food Tour: Midwest Edition”

Trisha Yearwood takes a trip down memory lane, recreating her favorite dishes from her time on tour in the Midwest and sharing memories using her own photos and footage. A stop in Des Moines, Iowa, inspires Trisha to make Crab Rangoon Pizza Bites with dipping sauce, while Kansas City, has her turning classic barbecue into a BBQ Sandwich with Tater Wedges and a Quick Pickle. Finally, Trisha’s inspired to make Key Lime Pie like she had at a steakhouse in Minneapolis.
