Alton Brown was at Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia this past weekend and made an announcement regarding the return of his hit show Good Eats. Alton has been teasing the return of Good Eats for quite some time and launched a YouTube channel in the past with Good Eats type videos, but this is the first somewhat official announcement of the show's return.
He stated that a show called Return of the Eats will be premiering next year on Food Network and also streaming online. Return of the Eats will be a half-hour show that will have additional scenes available for streaming viewers. Alton also joked about having to cut down on the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives episodes that air on Food Network saying they will now have to go from 8 hours to 7.5 hours of that show.
Alton has said in the past that Food Network owns the rights to Good Eats, so he wouldn't be making anything by bringing it back. I am not sure if the new show being called Return of the Eats changes anything.
