Below are some of the highlights of the Food Network programming scheduled to air on the channel in December. There are once again a lot of new Chopped episodes (all varieties) and a lot of holiday themed shows/specials. The Holiday Baking Championship will crown its winner on December 18th and there will also be a Holiday Baking Championship special on Christmas that brings in three previous champions and three fan favorites from Kids Baking Championship. The Jonas Brothers will be featured in a special called Jonas Restaurant: Family Style where their family opens up a restaurant in North Carolina.

Cake Wars: Christmas
Premiering Monday, December 5th at 9pm - "Christmas: Animals Celebrate Christmas Too"
Jonathan Bennett hosts as the four remaining teams composed of a master cake artist, sugar sculptor, and food carver return to battle to design mind-blowing Christmas creations. In the first round, they'll have to imagine Santa's disguise when he goes undercover. Then, in the second round, they'll be challenged to create a delicious world where animals of the forest celebrate Christmas. At the end of this battle, one more team will be eliminated in the quest for the $50,000 grand prize. Judges Charles Phoenix and Sherry Yard will be joined by special guest judge, cake artist Yolanda Gampp, to determine which team will be sent home.
Premiering Monday, December 12th at 9pm - "Christmas: Santa's Workshop"
We're down to the final three teams of cake artists, sugar sculptors, and master food carvers who need to help out Santa with a very important gift - the one for Mrs. Claus, herself! Then, in the second round, the teams must create the ultimate Santa's Workshop. In the end, one team will be eliminated, and the rest will continue to face off for the $50,000 grand prize. Host Jonathan Bennett is joined by Jackie Sorkin of Hollywood Candy Girls, and judges Charles Phoenix and Sherry Yard to determine which team will take the cake in this challenge.
Premiering Monday, December 19th at 9pm - "Christmas: Ultimate Christmas Front Yard" - SEASON FINALE!
Jonathan Bennett hosts this epic final battle! The two remaining teams made up of an expert cake artist, sugar sculptor, and master food carver go to battle one last time, to give us an amazing, edible Rudolph's Christmas card. Then, in the winner-take all final round, they'll face the monumental task of creating the ultimate Christmas front yard. When the gingerbread dust settles, one team will jingle all the way home with $50,000. Judges Charles Phoenix and Sherry Yard will be joined by guest judge Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi to determine the winner.

Premiering Thursday, December 1st at 9pm - "Jump for Bok Choy"
An Argentinian meat and something challengingly sweet are two of the appetizer surprises. In round two, the judges are happy to see a favorite seafood selection in the basket, and bok choy also finds its way to their plates. Finally, some giant sheets of tofu and an alluring take on cheesecake keep the finalists on their toes in the dessert round.

Premiering Monday, December 5th at 8pm - "Holiday Reality Check" - HOLIDAY EPISODE!
Chopped is hosting a holiday party with four stars of reality television: Les Gold, Claudia Jordan, Jenni Pulos and Karina Smirnoff. In the first round, the larger-than-life celebs must use an edible wreath and festively-shaped bread. In the second round, the judges are surprised to hear that one of the competitors has never eaten a common green veggie found in the basket. Finally, marshmallow men and holiday cocktails make for a celebratory, unpredictable dessert round.

Premiering Thursday, December 8th at 9pm - "Taco Time!"
In each round of this competition, the chefs are tasked with showcasing their creative take on the taco. The judges talk tripe and mustard rabe after an exciting appetizer round. Asian sauce and a beautiful protein are in the entrée basket, and the finalists bring tortillas to the sweet side with inventive desserts that include Mexican chocolate.

Premiering Tuesday, December 13th at 10pm - "Sweet Heat"
First, it's a pizza puzzle when the chefs open the appetizer basket to find something that's called pizza but doesn't look or taste like the dish they know and love. Two proteins in the second round require the competitors' attention, then the judges expect a hit of heat with their sweets during a dessert round featuring chilies.

Premiering Thursday, December 15th at 9pm - "Betting on the Farm"
The chefs are treated to some farm-fresh basket ingredients directly from the source! The first round has them rushing to make dishes with poultry and pickled chilies. In the entrée round, the judges are eager to eat three lamb dishes, but worry that some fresh greens might be forgotten as the clock ticks down. Then, some odd choices by the finalists in the dessert round keep everyone wondering how the competition will end.

Premiering Tuesday, December 20th at 10pm - "New Year's Bash" - NEW YEAR'S EPISODE!
It's the first ever Chopped New Year's party and the competitors get the celebration started with an extravagant appetizer basket that includes $50 worth of caviar and other pricy ingredients. The chefs find more premium items in the entrée baskets, as well as a traditional southern New Year's legume. The last two chefs in this New Year's fight face some dressed-up ice cream cones and a limited number of grapes for dessert.

Premiering Thursday, December 22nd at 9pm - "Million Dollar Baskets"
No expense has been spared with these top-notch, top-dollar basket ingredients! The chefs get to work with caviar and a very pricey seafood in the first round. The second million dollar basket features something lavishly sweet and something deliciously rare. And a $100 breakfast item is one of the prize ingredients that the finalists discover in the last basket.

Premiering Tuesday, December 27th at 10pm - "Basket Buzz"
The first basket includes a giant circle of dough with a long history and veggies that look like tiny watermelons, but taste like something else. Straight from nature to the chefs' baskets, ingredients in this competition are favorites of hunters and foragers! Then, the final wild round is a sweet one featuring berries and butter.

A new group of young competitors enter the kitchen and attempt to win over the judges. A super-cheesy sandwich is at the center of a puzzling appetizer basket, then in the second round, a root vegetable and a sweet Latin treat must find a place on the entree plates. The two kids lucky enough to make it all the way to the final round find a whimsical watermelon dessert in the baskets.

These four grandmas are definitely not taking a holiday from the kitchen! First, Santa gives them his food hack favorite, a clothes iron, which they must use in the preparation of holiday appetizers. Next, the grannies must make a Christmas main course featuring at least one fresh, one frozen and one canned ingredient. Then, the final two grandmas have to turn old-fashioned fruitcake ingredients into a holiday dessert irresistible enough to earn one of them $10,000 and impress the judges.

Then, the final two grandmas battle by taking on social media's newest trend, food imposters and creating a savory dish that looks like dessert.

The toughest chefs compete in an epic four-part Triple G Impossible tournament, featuring Guy Fieri's most impossible games and the most daunting challenger yet, Mr. Impossible himself, Robert Irvine. In each episode, three chefs compete with the winner of the first two games earning $10,000 and a shot at up to $10,000 more if they can beat Robert in a head-to-head cook-off. In the finale, the winners of the first three rounds compete until there is only one left, but to get to the end, that winner has to take on Robert one last time.

In the first round of the tournament, three chefs make a lumberjack breakfast using ingredients that all start with a single letter. Then, the remaining two chefs must shop for their seafood feast using a child-size cart. The winner earns $10,000 and a shot at up to $10,000 more if they can beat Robert in a final round.

The last chef standing wins $10,000 before having to battle Robert in an unforgettable final round.

With the grand opening just one week away they are down to the wire: the chef must perfect Nellie's signature chicken and learn the Jonas Brothers' favorite sweet potato casserole, the staff needs to be trained, and construction must be completed. It's all hands on deck to make sure Nellie's is ready to serve delicious Southern cuisine and entertain the town, Jonas family-style!

Kids Sweets Showdown
Premiering Wednesday, December 7th at 8pm - "Snow Day Doughnuts"
Hosts Sharone Hakman and Alison Sweeney make the baking teams go nuts with snow creatures made out of doughnuts! In the first challenge, the kids must create cereal treat homes for their creatures, then in the second round, they have to create an "odd snowman out" to join their snow creature clans. The $10,000 prize goes to the best team.
Premiering Wednesday, December 14th at 8pm - "Santa Express"
Hosts Ali Sweeney and Harley Morenstein ask the kids to bake and decorate holiday train cakes. For the first round, the kids turn cookie stacks into decorative holiday trees. Then, they continue the reforestation with sugar cone trees. The most talented team wins $10,000.

Cake Wars: Christmas
Premiering Monday, December 5th at 9pm - "Christmas: Animals Celebrate Christmas Too"
Jonathan Bennett hosts as the four remaining teams composed of a master cake artist, sugar sculptor, and food carver return to battle to design mind-blowing Christmas creations. In the first round, they'll have to imagine Santa's disguise when he goes undercover. Then, in the second round, they'll be challenged to create a delicious world where animals of the forest celebrate Christmas. At the end of this battle, one more team will be eliminated in the quest for the $50,000 grand prize. Judges Charles Phoenix and Sherry Yard will be joined by special guest judge, cake artist Yolanda Gampp, to determine which team will be sent home.
Premiering Monday, December 12th at 9pm - "Christmas: Santa's Workshop"
We're down to the final three teams of cake artists, sugar sculptors, and master food carvers who need to help out Santa with a very important gift - the one for Mrs. Claus, herself! Then, in the second round, the teams must create the ultimate Santa's Workshop. In the end, one team will be eliminated, and the rest will continue to face off for the $50,000 grand prize. Host Jonathan Bennett is joined by Jackie Sorkin of Hollywood Candy Girls, and judges Charles Phoenix and Sherry Yard to determine which team will take the cake in this challenge.
Premiering Monday, December 19th at 9pm - "Christmas: Ultimate Christmas Front Yard" - SEASON FINALE!
Jonathan Bennett hosts this epic final battle! The two remaining teams made up of an expert cake artist, sugar sculptor, and master food carver go to battle one last time, to give us an amazing, edible Rudolph's Christmas card. Then, in the winner-take all final round, they'll face the monumental task of creating the ultimate Christmas front yard. When the gingerbread dust settles, one team will jingle all the way home with $50,000. An Argentinian meat and something challengingly sweet are two of the appetizer surprises. Finally, some giant sheets of tofu and an alluring take on cheesecake keep the finalists on their toes in the dessert round.

Premiering Monday, December 5th at 8pm - "Holiday Reality Check" - HOLIDAY EPISODE!
Chopped is hosting a holiday party with four stars of reality television: Les Gold, Claudia Jordan, Jenni Pulos and Karina Smirnoff. In the first round, the larger-than-life celebs must use an edible wreath and festively-shaped bread. In the second round, the judges are surprised to hear that one of the competitors has never eaten a common green veggie found in the basket. Finally, marshmallow men and holiday cocktails make for a celebratory, unpredictable dessert round.

Premiering Thursday, December 8th at 9pm - "Taco Time!"
In each round of this competition, the chefs are tasked with showcasing their creative take on the taco. The judges talk tripe and mustard rabe after an exciting appetizer round. Asian sauce and a beautiful protein are in the entrée basket, and the finalists bring tortillas to the sweet side with inventive desserts that include Mexican chocolate.

Premiering Tuesday, December 13th at 10pm - "Sweet Heat"

Two proteins in the second round require the competitors' attention, then the judges expect a hit of heat with their sweets during a dessert round featuring chilies.

Then, some odd choices by the finalists in the dessert round keep everyone wondering how the competition will end.

Premiering Tuesday, December 20th at 10pm - "New Year's Bash" - NEW YEAR'S EPISODE!

The chefs find more premium items in the entrée baskets, as well as a traditional southern New Year's legume. The last two chefs in this New Year's fight face some dressed-up ice cream cones and a limited number of grapes for dessert.

And a $100 breakfast item is one of the prize ingredients that the finalists discover in the last basket.

The two kids lucky enough to make it all the way to the final round find a whimsical watermelon dessert in the baskets.

Next, the grannies must make a Christmas main course featuring at least one fresh, one frozen and one canned ingredient. Then, the final two grandmas have to turn old-fashioned fruitcake ingredients into a holiday dessert irresistible enough to earn one of them $10,000 and impress the judges.

In the finale, the winners of the first three rounds compete until there is only one left, but to get to the end, that winner has to take on Robert one last time.

In the first round of the tournament, three chefs make a lumberjack breakfast using ingredients that all start with a single letter.
