On tonight's episode of Food Network Star, the remaining
contestants had to first create and present a dish that home cooks could prepare in a short amount of time. After that, Damaris Phillips directs the finalists in a holiday-themed camera presentation that reflects their point of view. Damaris then joins Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis, Susie Fogelson, and Bob Tuschman at the judges table to decide who stays and who goes.
It seemed like Bobby and Giada wanted to eliminate Eddie while Bob and Susie wanted to eliminate Dom. Arnold, Eddie, and Dom were the bottom three and the judges decided that Dom Tesoriero would be eliminated.
In Star Salvation, Emilia Cirker, Rue Rusike, and Dom Tesoriero completed to remain in the competition. Emilia Cirker was eliminated during Star Salvation and will not be the next Food Network Star.

I think Bob and Susie made the right choice. Dom just isn't comfortable in front of the camera and ypu can't really teach that. Eddie would be just fine if he wasn't on a show improvising as he cooked.
ReplyDeleteI feel like this is still Jay's to win, and I expect Dom to win Star Salvation.
The sad thing was that Dom was actually likeable this episode and he got eliminated. But he deserved it after he was unfairly kept around. I thought that Eddie was extremely disappointing and either him or Arnold should have gone home. In my opinion, its shaping up to be a massive victory for Jay. Also in star salvation, Rue would probably win since there's female prescene in the show anymore.
ReplyDeleteI think Bob and Susie got it WRONG. Eddie should have gone home. Don't know why they saved him....ugh! Pork chops and ginger get real.
ReplyDeleteI like Dom, quite a bit. He can cook and comes across with a great personality when he can actually get some words out. Problem is he just can not do it on camera, period. I found myself disgusted with both Bobby and Giada tonight. What is their issue? How in the world could they have wanted to send Eddie home and not Dom. I understand if they would rather eat Doms food but this is a competition to find a food network personality, not a head chef. Tonight's whole episode left me thinking that there's something rotten in Denmark. I just don't understand.
ReplyDeleteEmilia, really? Tonight you talked about the squash blossoms growing in your backyard? I wonder if you had gotten lavender rosemary or sorghum, if they would have been growing in your backyard too? I'm glad she's gone everything about her smacks of weird and untrustworthy.
ReplyDeleteBecause you can edit and collaborate on menus (there's a reason most Halloween eps are sweets based). You can't teach charisma. Dom is the stronger chef, but Eddie is the better personality.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like Emilia, she obviously makes up her stories. The network needs someone genuine so I can understand why she was cut. Rue would probably take the star salvation title and arnold would most likely join them next week
ReplyDeleteI agree. He could have gone sweets or goofy silly for kids but it is usually someone that has children that prepares a fun kid friendly dish. I honestly thought the candied ginger and story about it was a great idea. The pork chop....all he had to say was some thing like my father made me eat something substantial like a big ole' pork chop so I had less room for candy. ( oh wait, that's what I always did when my kids were little, maybe that's why I did not feel a pork chop was out of line for his segment..lol)
ReplyDeleteI think he should have gone either spicy (maybe an Al Diavalo pasta) or like chocolate and blood orange or something like that!
ReplyDelete"Welcome to Spice Class, where I will not mention a single spice and maybe not even use any".
ReplyDeleteThose gray shrimp he made with a mystery marinade.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, Jay is going to win. Let just hope he can follow through with a show this time. The last two contestants never got their own show.
ReplyDeleteI watched tonight's episode and it honestly feels like there's a pattern going on through the seasons: Preliminary favorites getting worse. People destined to be eliminated become new favorites. Susie and Bob show up and screw everything up. Most likeable finalist from episode is eliminated. All favorite finalists are gone by top 4. Annoying product placement (I understand that FN wants to make money, but they seem to REALLY be pushing all the advertising this year). Come on, FNS.
ReplyDeleteOn a positive note, I'm genuinely happy that Alex took such a huge stride forward tonight. Hopefully either he or Rue (pulling for her to win Star Salvation) can win.
I agree with you. I couldn't believe that they wanted Dom to stay, yet again. Thank goodness Suzi and Bob were there and overruled Bobby and Giada.
