- Aarti Sequeira after defeating Susan Feniger, Jeff Mauro, and Michael Psilakis on episode one.
- Marcel Vigneron after defeating Nadia G, Brian Malarkey, and Justin Warner on episode two.
- Eric Greenspan after defeating Anne Burrell, Johnny Iuzzini and Damaris Phillips on episode three.
- Fabio Viviani after defeating Melissa d’Arabian, Elizabeth Falkner, and Alex Guarnaschelli on episode four.
That made a finale of Eric Greenspan vs. Fabio Viviani where they had to make candy. In the end, Eric Greenspan won and won $45,000 additional dollars for his charity, which was Pancreatic Cancer Research . Eric made it through the competition only winning one bid to sabotage his opponents.
That's awesome! I'm glad that he didn't blow through all his money to win and that he won by overcoming the challenges. Congratulations to Chef Eric! :)

ReplyDeleteCheryl Torrenueva already is one of the designers on the show. All they need to do is have Igor work the Canadian restaurants and Tom Bury the US ones and we're all set.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about Igor is that he will tell a designer when her concept is structurally impractical or even impossible; Tom very rarely argues with the designers. Of course, the designers on RI actually get their hands dirty, while the designers on Takeover present their ideas, do some shopping, and generally don't have any hands-on involvement until they do the final decorating.
ReplyDeleteDid we all catch Fabio's Top Chef reference regarding Marcel? Something about wanting Marcel to be eliminated before him again (as he was in Top Chef All Stars).
ReplyDeleteRemember Salt Works II from the first season.....two nice young men, inexperience in the restaurant business was their only crime. No interpersonal drama. This is what I wish RI was all about.

ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed this show. The three guys were a hoot. I like all of them and didn't really care which one won. All had legitimate charities that meant something to them. Alton seemed to be enjoying it, too.

ReplyDeleteThat was a hoot to watch! And it's safe to say the candy round was a failure when the winner was more or less chosen because he made one decent bite.

ReplyDeleteGreat job by the fat man taking everything the could throw at him and saving his money for charity. Although I find it hard to believe that his lolyblobs won the final round.
ReplyDeleteIt funny until one of the chefs falls on his knife one of these days. SOme of these things look kind of dangerous.
ReplyDeleteFabio was pretty smart with his bids. Some chefs blow all their money on stupid things and don't bid on the good ones.
ReplyDeleteHe got all 3 other chefs to make meatballs out of things like canned soup for only 2200 bucks or something. around that amount. Faulkner paid like 7000 just to make him cook on shelves...
Sometimes that's all it takes.

ReplyDeleteOn Alton's After Show it was said that Eric won because the grapefruit lollyplop was the single best bite of the round. Basically they both sucked, he just sucked a little less.
ReplyDeleteIt is not hard to get fighting people to air their emotions and have them hug it out on TV. But the fighting will likely start again real soon if the dynamics are not changed.

ReplyDeleteAfter watching Papa C's my wife and I remarked how the show has gone downhill and become formulaic. It's Dr. Phil, Part Deux. But we figured everybody else liked it. Reading below it's clear that we're not alone in that opinion. Come on, Robert. Ger back to the show we loved. Leave the psychology to Dr. Phil.

ReplyDeleteThis is part of the reason why I've stopped watching the show. I do not enjoy seeing people fighting and not bringing solutions to the table.
