Food Network Star Lenny Mcnab Controversy - Will His Past Cost Him?

Photo - Food Network
Lenny Mcnab was just crowned the season 10 winner of Food Network Star, and there is currently a lot of outrage on message boards and in the Food Network blog comments section because of things Lenny has posted on the internet in the past.

Lenny had a crude Youtube video, which was recently removed by someone after people started talking about it.  Lenny also has a past with calling into the Ron and Fez show (currently on Sirius Radio) and is a frequent poster on multiple Ron and Fez forums.  Lenny's comments on those forums are also vulgar, and he even makes a derogatory comment toward Food Network's Ree Drummond.  Finally Lenny has a photobucket site with more videos that could be considered offensive.

Here is a rundown of some of the comments, videos, and controversial things that Lenny has posted on the internet in the past:

WARNING - A lot of bad language below and NSFW videos due to language.

  • Lenny had a video on his Youtube page that was recently taken down as so many people were talking about how crude it was.  He was cursing while cutting brisket, and the video included words such as the big C word.
  • Lenny posts as ChuckWagonCook on the Ron and Fez forums, and when he announced he was going to be on Food Network Star, he posted a teaser saying:
Without everyone out here...I would never of been out...............here?

As you know (or might not)...I was on Guy's Grocery Games this last year. Episode entitled "The Ol Switch-a-Roo" I ended up losing due to my undercooked lamb.

But that's not the point. Albeit it is a good point. At least for this thread....but still not the point.

The point I am getting at is this.

Years ago when I was phoning in to the Ron and Fez Show I knew that i had a certain "sticky" factor. (yes...like cum)...and I knew that stardom was in my future. I'm not trying to be arrogant or pompous...I just felt it.....just felt it.

Well.....here you go you cock sucking, faggot sticking, pussy licking, ass dragging, mouth breathing, knuckle draggin, keyboard jizzing, assholes......(my fans). That's means both of you.

I will be on Food Networks new season of.........
wait for it.......
So now I have a REALLY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT for everyone......
  • Someone commented, "He's taking over The Pioneer Woman show from the fake cowgirl Ree Drummond," and Lenny responded to that with:
"I'd fuck her...IN THE ASS!!!!!!  that's right...I said it!!!"
  • When someone pointed out a typo to him, Lenny responded, "Thanks Andrew....and BTW typo is actually my middle name. Leonard Typo McNab. It's a black thing."
  • His profile one of the Ron and Fez forums says "I'm a fat fuck", and he has over 6000 posts if you want to root through them (You only need a valid email address to join). Here is a season long thread of people on the forums rooting for Lenny.

  • Lenny also has a Photobucket account under the name chuckwagoncook_2008 with odd and random videos:

  • On his personal website, he recently had at the bottom of it "Voted Best Lover By All Women 2003-2014."  That no longer appears on his website, but you can see it archived here

Who knows what else there is out there, but this doesn't look good for Lenny's future.  If the Food Network is serious about trying to do a show with Lenny, they may have to do some damage control.  Controversial pasts have resulted in the Food Network firing Paula Deen and Robert Irvine, and now we will see if a controversial past will have any impact on Lenny Mcnab.

UPDATE - Most of the links above point to nothing now due to the content being removed at those sites.  This is something that probably should have been done months or even weeks ago.  Gawker has screen grabs of the message board posts, and now The Braiser has a copy of the infamous brisket video.

  1. Looks like the fat f_ck has torpedoed his career before it could even start. If only the same sort of stuff could come out about Guy, or some of the other annoying, no talent, "chefs", and failed restaurateurs, that currently populate this once interesting channel.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Lenny? Seriously? If a one time thirty year old comment gets Paula Deen fired, how does Lenny make it past FN vetters before even showing up on NFNS? Does Buick want to be associated with this guy?

And it looked like Alton was a bit shocked & disappointed that Luca didn't win.

  3. Honestly, I haven't heard anything about Lenny outside this particular website. It may be lighting up message boards, but it certainly hasn't gone mainstream. If that's the case, they may just sweep it under the rug.

At the end of the day, Lenny is just another reality show contest whose show may or may not even get produced. He's not someone that most people have even heard of, let alone care about. FN isn't going to make a stink if they don't have to.

    ReplyDelete
  4. The FN blog on the NFNS comments section has exploded with all of this info, so it's not just this site. I didn't like him from the beginning and he's proven to be a disgusting, crude poor representation of whatever FN was trying to bring to the front. They have lost all respect from me after this, not that they had much already. I'll stick to "Chopped" and a few other shows, but this was just ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  5. But he still won which suggests most viewers either didn't know or don't care. Remember, message boards are often vocal, but make up a very small portion of an overall viewership.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Let this be a lesson to everyone......keep your crap off of the internet!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Wow. Interesting. But when did they fire irvine?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I had to google that myself. It was 2008

  9. He was fired from Dinner: Impossible when it came out that his résumé had false information, but he was later re-hired.

    ReplyDelete
  10. There are really only a few of us who regularly post on the FN message boards. Scan the comments on any blog, and you'll see maybe a dozen names that form the regular posting base. The rest of the country—the ones who voted for Lenny—don't participate in the forums and likely aren't aware of his ugly side.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The worst thing to me is that many of Lenny's defenders treat his behavior as a product of an immature past and think he's come to his senses since then. They don't seem to be aware that he not only continues in his vulgar ways, but is unconscionably proud of what he's put out.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Exactly. And the last thing FN will want to do is bring attention to something that people aren't aware of.

If they really are worried about it, his career may be as short lived as Justin's (a special but no show). Otherwise, it may just be business as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  13. So Lenny's human (and a little crude). Big deal. His "aw shucks, ma'am" persona was never entirely credible. The bigger surprise is that Food Network didn't tell the contestants to scrub their internet trail before the show started.

If we're going to pass judgment on every host, we'd have to get rid of a couple of them from Next Food Network Star, right? Or is adultery less offensive than using the "C" word?

    ReplyDelete
  14. "a little crude"? Really? I've seen porn that was less offensive. Lenny is a leopard who will never change his spots.

Even Paula Deen attempted an apology, as did Adam Richman—lame though they were. Lenny, on the other hand, seems to be proud of his vulgarity and wears it like a badge of honor.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Both Bobby and Alton looked sick to their stomachs when they announced Lenny won.

    ReplyDelete
  16. America voted for a redneck. We knew this before so why are we surprised after.

    ReplyDelete
  17. He won on this website too and we've been talking about that video for a while.

    I don't get it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't think very many 'celebrity' chefs would be on tv if their pasts were made to go viral. Anthony Bourdain comes to mind, or Robert Irvine like mentioned above. Heck, I think food network would have had Paula back after things died down, but people were burnt out on her shtick anyway

. I don't like Lenny and found him to be obnoxious and fake on the show, and I think these videos are just silly and immature. I agree, people do far worse than write lewd things on the internet. I don't particularly care about someone's past when they are entertaining me. (Unless of course they have done something unforgivable like rape or murder in cold blood).

I wish FN would just go back to good old educational cooking shows instead of looking for someone with some hokey schtick. I guess these types sell ads and get eyeballs on the screen, and admittedly I like quality and a little boring over flashy and dramatic, so I'm in the minority in my viewing habits.

I also agree with the writer above who said they are tired of the country cooking shows. I didn't care for the seafood gal from Jersey, but at least it was DIFFERENT.

    ReplyDelete
  19. More like an immature drunken fratboy pretending to be a redneck.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Paula's contract was up. She wasn't going to be renewed anyway. FN used the PD mess to make it appear they were taking the moral high road. FN also overexposed her so no wonder people were tiring of her.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I agree with you!! I dont care what you have done in the past... hes not the same person he was. He can cook and i cant wait to see his show!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. So many people have so many negative things to say. Get over it people. Yah hes got a past... we all do... get over yourselves. I cant wait to see his show!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lenny has a lot of apologists who want to believe that his past is behind him in spite of the fact that many of his "offerings" are recent—as recent as mentioning his FNS win—and he appears to take great pride in them.

    ReplyDelete
  24. He is still posting the same crap. His past has not been relegated to the past.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I dont care honestly. He can cook and thats all i care about and cant wait to watch him do so

    ReplyDelete
  26. The problem is that his past continues into the present. He has not grown up; he has not changed his ways; and he has not apologized for anything he's said, done, and posted.

    ReplyDelete
  27. They never should have fired Paula Deen to begin with; and Robert Irvine was fired for LYING about his background, not for anything he'd actually done. Let me tell you: He spouts off anti-Jew sentiments in person, and guess what -- he still has a job.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Like a rap star, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  29. "I don't care about his past"

Those six words are basically the mentality of the ignorant low information voters who elected Obama into office.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He doesn't have to grow up....change or apologize for anything. Freedom of speech is a right of every citizen.

    ReplyDelete
  31. He doesn't have to change. Who says he does? If he is offensive......don't watch! I will make my own decision!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ok. So Lenny it's crude, possibly rude, calls people names, and says what he'd do to women.
I have bad news. This shit happens everyday between guys, I've seen it headover 25 years though different jobs, places and states.
I've heard guys I work with say much worst, including what they'd do to each other. I'm a working class guy so maybe this is isolated to our "class", I seriously doubt it from the evidence I've seen.

    ReplyDelete
  33. First off this isnt a political vote. This is about who can cook the best. Not about what they have previously done/posted/said. I have a past and i own my own catering business and online sweets shop. Does that make me a bad person... no. It means i have a past but i sure can cook well enough to own 2 businesses dong it. Get over it. Politics has no place in this!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. You go girl!!!!! ☺☻☺☻

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree. Im a woman in a mans world and have hea5d so much worse than what Lenny has said. Ive participated in some conversations. People are just upset because this wasnt a beauty pageant it was a cooking show and he has the skilks needed to cook his ass off

    ReplyDelete
  36. I could say the same thing about GWBush...there, we're even. Let's keep politics out of this and stay on topic.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I agree. As in a previous comment i made... i have a past but that doesnt define who i am.

    ReplyDelete
  38. They're forgetting two things. Maybe 3. TV is about money. In order to make money you need either, an entertainer, or controversy. Guess what...

    ReplyDelete
  39. From the very first episode i picked Lenny to win. My bf actually picked Loreal. I voted for him online and would watch his show when it aires. He is who he is... doesnt mean he ant cook. Obviously he can otherwise he wouldnt have won!!!! Go Lenny!!!! I support you

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think it's a matter of audience. If Lenny were doing a show on Esquire or another male-centric network, I doubt anyone would notice and his personality would even be a selling point. But FN sets itself up to be pretty mainstream and family-friendly, which is one reason Anthony Bourdain didn't last long there.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It may not define who you are, but don't be fooled into thinking a potential employer is not going to take your previous conduct into consideration when weighing whether or not to reward you with a job.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree, @MoHub. The comments in this post pretty much attest to exactly your point and it's "SMDH"-worthy.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I take it you've never been in a position of hiring subordinates. Employers take everything into consideration during the hiring process, criminal or not. If you appear to be the kind of person whose online presence will eventually embarrass the company, you will not be hired.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Enjoy waiting for his show. I guarantee they will never put him on the air. Ever.

    ReplyDelete
  45. so who caress what he has done or said in the past as long as he doesn't talk like that on his food network show its all good.....

    ReplyDelete
  46. no they didn't... Alton knew Lenny was going to win..

    ReplyDelete
  47. As recently as four months ago, Lenny proved he's a foul-mouthed juvenile whose idea of humor is maligning gays and women. This is not about his having a past or indulging in ribald humor. He's a vulgar, distasteful guy who is complete phony. I know of 14-year-olds who use better judgment on what to post online than he does.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm glad he won and I am looking forward to seeing his show..

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am one of the people who originally found some of this stuff on Lenny and posted the links online, specifically the page where he spews horrific language against gays and Rhee Drummond. I am sorry but this guy is a scuzz bag with crazy eyes. He creeped out Fez so much the guy never forgave him. He has "crazy eyes". I wouldn't leave him alone with my kids. He is not just rude and crude, he is demented. No one makes those kinds of comments and stalks radio show hosts the way he did if he were not out of his mind. I'm sorry but the FN gets what they deserve with this guy.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know, either that or they just don't care....Goes to show you who FN's audience is these days and the level of class and ethics they have.

    ReplyDelete
  51. He is not just a little tarnished, this guy is nutso and offensive to large groups of people. If you find offensive whackos entertaining, get a job in an insane asylum or just watch some YouTube videos. Having someone like this represent their brand is a very bad idea for FN.

    ReplyDelete
  52. A lot of people said they didn't care about what Paula Deen said but she got kicked off FN anyway. Why should Lenny get a pass when he insults gays and women? Seriously, you don't care about those things? I fear for the future of this country, really I do...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yes, an immature drunken, illiterate fratboy from New Hampshire pretending to be a redneck.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I don't have to get over myself. I have never said such awful things in my entire life and I have never had the lack of judgment to incriminate myself online either. Food Network used to be about decent people on their network but no more. They are so desperate for ratings they'll hire some scuzzy demented poser like Lenny now. If that's the type of person you like to watch on TV, turn the channel and watch TLC or A&E.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Unfortunately, as someone with a PhD in Psychology, I respectfully disagree about Lenny. It DOES define who he is.

    ReplyDelete
  56. If that's the kind of guy you want handing your kids celery on national TV, I feel sorry for your kids.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I voted for Obama and truth be told, I tend to agree with him, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah but Food Network is being a hypocrite by condoning this guy's behavior yet turning their backs on Paula Deen for comparatively much less depending on how you look at it. Paula Deen is a racist, so what, millions of people have used that word. At least she is not a demented scuzzball who puts down women and gays.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I don't participate I knew I laughed at them I still voted for him. and I think the whole of Food network sucks anymore its all game shows maybe they can put him on late night and let him drop F bombs all over I'd watch it, at least it will be entertaining as some of the crap now is just .. may as well watch drunk girl kitchen on you tube, you learn more than FN provides

    ReplyDelete
  60. The difference between what happens between guys every day and Lenny is that he put that offensive crap online for everyone to see and Food Network is considering him as a public figure to represent their brand. I see a conflict there for Food Network. What you say in private to your friends is one thing, but letting everyone in America know you're a misogynistic homophobic vulgar, immature, and possibly insane stalker is not exactly what your employer will want from you or the viewing public wants to look at (unless they really don't care about moral values at all, which says a lot about them, if you ask me).

    ReplyDelete
  61. I feel sorry for your kids!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. That is not true - Anthony Bourdain left the Food Network for his own reasons, they didn't get rid of him. They were more than happy to rerun his old shows after he left. And guess who owns the Travel Channel? Scripps, the same company that owns Food Network, so there goes that theory....

    ReplyDelete
  63. Isn't the internet wonderful....where you can claim to be anything you want to be.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Well, I guess it's better than a "I'm rubber and you're glue" retort, but really, try harder next time.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Really? What makes you say that?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Did you notice how he was practically drooling over Giada when he hugged her and twirled her around on TV last night? I bet Giada's husband was not happy about that overly friendly hug.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I'm honestly shocked most of all that he got away with the Ree Drummond comment (not that he should have been excused for any of it). One would think FN would make no bones about standing up for someone in their stable of talent.

    ReplyDelete
  68. To quote the esteemed Kent Brockman:

"I've said it before and I'll say it again: Democracy simply doesn't work."

    ReplyDelete
  69. I wondered at the time why they rehired him. They cut that one young man from I think it was Food Network Star, because he lied about being in the military. Same thing as Irvine lying about his past, but probably Irvine fans were sending in a lot of emails asking for him to return.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Not so smart of FN to alienate the only decent viewers it had left....

    ReplyDelete
  71. I don't think they vet these people. They can't have done so and if they did, they did a terrible job of it.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You sound like the libtard view of tolerance. If you don't with everything a minority or malcontent says or you! than you are a bigot. Sounds like Lenny is conservative in his politics. I'll be glad to tune in!

    ReplyDelete
  73. You sound like a sore loser. Get over yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Sorry the left handed metrosexual typical gay Pat didn't win. too bad for you

    ReplyDelete
  75. I guarantee you "Cowboy Lenny"'s show will never, ever see the light of day on Food Network.

    ReplyDelete
  76. That's why in the USA we have freedom of speech. Place find a copy of the U.S. Bill of Rights and Constitution at your local library. Pick it up and read it. In it you will find the guarantee of freedom of speech. Please tune in to the Oprah network to watch brain farting while Lenny's show is on and popular.

    ReplyDelete
  77. PhD - ooohhh I'm so impressed. Did you get that degree from Devry too?

    ReplyDelete
  78. BINGO. They didn't care about the agitator in chief's sordid past and terrible grades in college and questionable U.s. citizenship - so why should I now care what they say or do about Lenny - I'm not tuning out an overweight guy who's got a lot of persona and cooking ability when he airs.

    ReplyDelete
  79. THIS is no surprise. What part of the $9 trillion in new debt that Oweblamo racked up are YOU paying. You voted for the buffoon, so pay up.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I would expect Food Network to stand up for me if I were an on-air talent. I honestly hopes she doesn't find out about it. I'd be disgusted to know that someone I might have to work with in the future shared online that they'd like to do that to me.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I don't know if she's on Twitter or other social media platforms, but I have to believe her fans have at least tried to make her aware of that comment. If there's any good that can come of it, it's that remark might just be the one to completely sink him. Unless I'm wrong, she's an employee of the Food Network and she conceivably could raise a stink about the hostile environment his selection and hiring creates.

    ReplyDelete
  82. That would be "(eff) you, Wackbag." Wackbag is a website frequented by fans of Opie & Anthony and Ron & Fez. NSFW, so don't visit from work.

I knew the cowboy act was fake. This proves it. YMB, Lennie.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Cox owned Travel while Bourdain did No Reservations on that network. He left for CNN to do Parts Unknown when Scripps bought Travel.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Lenny is white trash. Food Network has to realize how many sophisticated viewers they are losing with this decision. Just looking at him gives me the creeps! I actually know a contestant on the show and Lenny was always making inappropriate comments and slurs. The rest of the cast did not want him to win for this reason. His show wont last, and his reputation will always precede him. He did not deserve to win, and his past will all come full circle eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I hope some of the contestants actually shared their opinions with FN or at least the mentors, but not sure if what they said would be taken as sour grapes. Sorry that the person you know didn't win.

    ReplyDelete
  86. He has absolutely no class. Luca should have won. It's like McNab burned his bridges before he even got to them. I hope he gets "Chopped" before his first episode!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Paula Deen is a bad example. Guy Fieri probably better but the difference is Lenny does something guy do every day. It's crude but not mean spirited. In Paula's case if she isn't racist from what I saw she was incredibly insensitive to Blacks and her use of the word was mean spirited. The Guy Fieri thing from a couple years ago blew over quick, probably because he still makes them a ton of money.

    ReplyDelete
  88. All Lenny's links have been scrubbed.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I'm not saying FN ousted him, but they clearly had different ideas about what his show should look like and that's why he left as soon as he could.

    ReplyDelete
  90. One fact about this fool that seems to go unnoticed is his "accent." I ivein colorado i can tell you we don't have southern accents. He grew up in New Hampshire. From the get go i was completely put off by his god awful belt buckles and weasel eyes and the whole "shucks ma'am" schtick...yet i knew he would win. He absolutely bombed the last two episodes yet they kept him cuz they knew he'd be voted in by people missing the Paula Deen void. Well, just like any other "winner" of this show we probably won't see hair nor hide of this overgrown baby fat-ass. Im never watching this show again.

    ReplyDelete
  91. They would've kept him - Bourdain left on his own. Not saying there's no acrimony there, but he has issues with what Food Network does to, well, food.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Funny, that's what I think Palin supporters said.

    ReplyDelete
  93. You've obviously never read the first amendment. Feedom of speech means the government cannot make a law abridging your speech. Food Network, on the other hand, can.

I'd think a republican would understand that, since y'all think corporations are people.

    ReplyDelete
  94. It figures. In the long run I guess it doesn't matter much because people that are like he is just can't seem to help themselves. He'll do something as disgusting or worse and will be found out then. The food industry is full of gays and women and with his views on gays and women, it shouldn't take long before he does or says something. He won't be big enough to the network to weather the storm, like Guy was when his incident occurred and FN will have to let him go.

    ReplyDelete
  95. It sounds like the other one we elected in 2000! Faux cowboy from New England...I'm having flashbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I can forgive potty mouth. But I can't forgive racist, sexist and homophobic slurs, which Lenny apparently uses as easily as he breathes. I bitterly regret having voted for him.

    ReplyDelete
  97. You are right and you make a very Fair point. Bourdain is a poor example in my comment, because you are right, he has been honest and has overcome a lot and addiction is different than acting like an immature jerk.and it is laudatory what Bourdain has overcome, but he still has a past, and for people to say that anyone with a past is reprehensible but make excuses for former addicts who made mistakes seems odd to me, if people who weren't addicts made mistakes in their past and have changed., I think they should get a second chance for past bad behavior. I mean these incidents were

Honeslty, I don't know if Lenny has changed, there is so much you really don't know about ANY of FNStar contestants, FN makes them just repeat a PoV with the same story over and over again and they totally lack substance!

But, I guess you could also say that Lenny hasn't really tried to hide anything, I mean heck his bizarre behavior is all over the web with no attempt to scrub it. He didn't have any reason to address it directly on the show, either.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Sorry for the spelling and punctuation errors, my IPad is not liking Discus!

    ReplyDelete
  99. As long as that "same crap" isn't in his show, who cares. Looks to me like FN got what they want out of the show....people talking. Controversy, like sex, sells.

BTW, I stopped watching after the season JAG(off) was busted on his claimed past and the winner was someone who had already been sent home instead of the girl who should have won (I'm too lazy to look up her name.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Lenny makes my skin crawl and that was even before I knew about his behaviour online. I feel bad for Giada, he's obsessed with her. If I was a woman I would not want to work with him.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Also, I want to make clear I find his comments, troublesome, disturbing and disgusting and I WILL NOT be watching his show.

    ReplyDelete
  102. We're you not paying attention to his obsession with Giada? Dude is creeptastic. Not to mention Bobby spat out his food which he has never done before on FN.

    ReplyDelete
  103. "Sticks and stones...", remember that saying? If more people did, the country would be better off. Paula Deen should never had been fired, and considering the Lenny decison, she should be re-hired. There'e nothing worse than double-standards.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were hooking up while his (former) wife was home pregnant. That could be the reference. I'm not sure though...

    ReplyDelete
  105. " for people to say that anyone with a past is reprehensible but make excuses for former addicts who made mistakes seems odd to me"

It's about repentance and redemption. Bourdain did that. On the other hand, Lenny is still perpetrating (or at least was, as of the last week or so) his misogynistic, homophobic and racist opinions. It isn't a youthful indiscretion, it's who he is as an adult and contemporaneous to who he is today.

One could say he was trying to fit into a "shock jock" fan base group, but that doesn't make it any less offensive.

    ReplyDelete
  106. They (Garth and Trisha ) pretend now like they dated right after, but country music fans who have memories remember it and it was during their marriage. Seems a lot less scandalous compared to the crap people do now.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Spot on. I curse like crazy. (If it was good enough for Shakespeare, it's good enough for me). But the words he uses speak to a mindset I don't want shown on my tv.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I'd rather see him gone, too.
Their attitudes should be things of the past, not the future.

  109. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have just found out about this today and i did not realize until i did a little more research, just how long the patterns continued. You have changed my mind on this because I now see how he is still continuing the behavior. I went to those boards and read the Fez controversy. Phew really sounded like Lenny needs serious mental help. I worry (no psychologist here, just a lowly teacher) he has some serious fandom obsessions and can't see how he could be 'wrong' or 'inappropriate' with boundaries. It truly makes those edited scenes of him drooling over Giada seriously scary! He has the potential to get super obsessed !

  110. I''
m certainly no fan of lewdness, bathroom humor and other immature "entertainment," but I also think there's a substantive difference between someone with a history of making crass videos and one who makes comments - or plans events - that appear racist or someone who pads their resume and lies about their history,

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think he is too. As I posted elsewhere, he was practically drooling over her last night when he gave her that hug.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Very well said and I agree. If someone repents and changes their ways, I have no problem with forgiveness. To continue though, is another story.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Go Lenny!!!! You are the man!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  114. No lowly in teacher Ashley. It's a darn tough profession and we need more good ones!

    ReplyDelete
  115. That's who I was trying to remember when I commented earlier ~ Jag. I liked him and thought he could go far, but the claiming to be a Marine did him in.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Sticks and stones? Homophobic, racist and misogynistic comments are not sticks and stones. For heaven's sakes, the CEO of Mozilla was gotten rid of because he donated to an anti-gay marriage group!
In 2014 there is no place for those types of attitudes and quite literally, behavior like Lenny's could get FN sued for a hostile work environment or sexual harassment.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Bunch of haters here!!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm disappointed to hear that. The editors went out of their way to make Sarah come across as bratty & annoying, but chose to leave out all of Lenny's slurs. It makes me feel like it was rigged from the beginning for Lenny to win.

    ReplyDelete
  119. It looks like it. They got caught with their pants down when one of the finalists in a previous TNFNS was kicked out for lying about his military service, and Robert Irvine was temporarily kicked of Dinner Impossible when it came to light that he severely embellished his resume. You'd think the heads at FN would double check everyone to make sure they don't have skeletons in their closet before putting them on TNFNS.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Eh, I doubt he'd be intimidated by someone like Lenny.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I remember that fiasco. He was in the finals, when they yanked him for lying about serving in the Marines. Then they brought Amy back to replace him, and she won the job over the more deserving girl (can't remember her name either). Even worse, Amy only filmed 6 episodes, then ran off to France whining about missing her family. Bitch, if you weren't prepared to be away from your family or spend hours in front of a camera, you shouldn't have been in the fucking competition in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  122. They kicked Irvine off the show, then replaced him with Michael Symon. Once the ratings started to slip and Irvine's fans raised a ruckus, FN came crawling back to Robert.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Perfectly reasonable to despise a person who says despicable things.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Looks like there will be two firings. Lenny and who ever does the vetting

    ReplyDelete
  125. I agree it's amazing who ever does the vetting missed all this. They certainly will be fired(and should be)

    ReplyDelete
  126. Honest to god, the number of people who jump to the 'FIRST AMENDMENT' chant, without any clear understanding of the application of the Bill of Rights, makes me sob.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Take it over to Stormfront.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I'm sorry, is this MichelleMalkin.com or Food Network Gossip?

    ReplyDelete
  129. I'm not a liberal and I can't stand Lenny irregardless of his politics. I didn't like him from day one. He comes off as an obnoxious phoney and I can't stand his deer in the headlights eyes either.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I always wonder if people who get yelled at and berated by Irvine ever want to say "Well at least i didn't outright lie on my resume to further my career."

    ReplyDelete
  131. Look at most of the Hollywood entertainers. Lenny looks like an angel to them. I like Lenny and glad he won. He is the only contestant in the last couple of years I would actually tune in.

    ReplyDelete
  132. At least Palin had leadership experience, the current seat warmer in the White House had and still has none, and we're all paying for it here and worldwide.

    ReplyDelete
  133. What a sucker you are, as well as illiterate - You buy Lenny's act hook line and sinker. The REAL Lenny is from New Hampshire, which ranks #14 on the list of most liberal states. It's right next to Vermont, which is THE most liberal state. Think you know this guy? You do NOT.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Ummm.....That's all well and good when a person has a past, but what we're talking about with Lenny is his PRESENT. The MOST offensive comments he has made were made THIS YEAR.

    ReplyDelete
  135. It amazes me how people want to defend this guy and then suddenly when they read his stuff in depth they realize he needs mental help. I'm glad to see you took the time to look into it and kept an open mind to the facts.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I am not a sore loser, I saw that Lenny was nuts from DAY ONE. I am a psychologist and know how to spot a loon when I see one....Like you.

    ReplyDelete
  137. I have a feeling you are right. I don't think FN wants THIS much controversy surrounding a star on the network.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Send me your email address, I'll send you a copy of my diploma. Class of 1991, Fordham University Graduate School of Education, PhD in Counseling Psychology, straight A's. Also a graduate of the Bronx HS of Science, 1976. I am not some Gen Y turd who claims to be someone they're not, nor a fat crazy loser from New Hampshire pretending to be a cowboy. Funny how people believe HIM but bash ME, and I am the real deal. Gotta love it.

    ReplyDelete
  139. What else do you expect from 13 year olds?

    ReplyDelete
  140. Voting for him is something I have lived to regret. I usually vote Republican. So I made a mistake. At least I don't go around insulting women and gay people like Lenny.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Why do you feel compelled to sidetrack this thread for your own agenda? This is not a politics thread so beat it!

    ReplyDelete
  142. If you don't have something to say about Food Network star, get lost.

    ReplyDelete
  143. If you don't have something to say about Food Network Star get lost.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Unfortunately I think they might be bound by contract agreements not to dish about it, plus they would want to keep their options open in case Food Network calls them up one day, but you never know.

    ReplyDelete
  145. It stinks someone with personality will finally be back on that network.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I'm sure your poor brain does that a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I was rooting for Luca, he had a distinctive POV and enough charm to knock women viewers' socks off- also he proved he was a great cook and would have made a wonderful addition to Food Network lineup. But viewers chose this one so I guess we can't complain. Luca got my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  148. But the viewers choose the winner Jodub. And that pig Lenny would never be a substitute for Paula. Who would want their private, uncensored thoughts publicized? We all have a right to privacy AND some non-PC views of some things. Lenny, however was outrageous and disgusting in public forums. I hope there's some way to get rid of him and quietly give the show to Luca. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  149. Giada seems to genuinely like the pig and enjoy his "humor". I WANT LUCA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  150. Jeebus he is gross.

    ReplyDelete
  151. i still like him. he's funny, entertaining, and can cook. he's not a complete idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  152. fuck Luca (respectfully); that guy can't talk. maybe he could have a show in Italy or something. he's too shy and inexperienced...and he can't talk. also, he can't talk.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Well great balls of fire.....you folks sure got your panties all up in a bunch over this one!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Well aren't you just wild! Truth is you're not. You're most likely middle of the road, offended by anything that doesn't fall within your narrow comfort zone. On forums people generally know each other so he was most likely speaking to friends of his. Find ONE interesting performer in the history of entertainment who isn't polarizing or doesn't have some weird off center thing about them.

    ReplyDelete
  155. As the winner, FN is supposed to give Lenny a featured spot on stage at the NY Wine and Food Festival, Oct 16-19. Will be interesting to see if they actually put this clown in front of that audience

    ReplyDelete
  156. But rights come with responsibilities. Freedom of speech does not give you

the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater. And writing and recording gross, sexist, homophobic material does not fit in with FN's supposedly family-friendly image.

    ReplyDelete
  157. hmmm...do you trust FN when they say the "viewers" picked Lenny? Not sure that I do.

    ReplyDelete
  158. When will you learn that there was far more to the Paula Deen controversy than the single 30-year-old use of a racist term? There was the whole diabetes issue, as well as the harassment lawsuit filed against her restaurant and her brother who managed it. And let us not forget the "plantation" wedding she catered that was modeled on Gone With the Wind, complete with black "servants."

    ReplyDelete
  159. He cursed! God help us all!Actually I enjoyed watching him. He will certainly be more interesting than "Chopped" "cutthroat" or that cupcake show.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I think they did vet people, because all the other contestants seem to be pretty clean. They probably thought viewers wouldn't care about Lenny's more controversial behavior, & they were right, seeing as how he won.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Food Network wanted a guy to appeal to the yokels, and yokels aren't bothered by homophobic, misogynistic comments.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Well, if you enjoyed watching him you may also enjoy watching his video where he is sitting on the toilet eating from his advent calendar (saw that one last night and I really didn't enjoy it). Maybe he could have a show where he cooks from his toilet so folks who enjoy his behavior could enjoy that as well. Maybe he could ready some of that "poetry" he had on his photobucket site aloud while he cooks from his toilet. That could be fun, huh? Pete v, did you have an opportunity to check any of this out before you limited your post to "he cursed?" I am sure that the Pioneer Woman will see to it that he is "chopped" from the Network.

    ReplyDelete
  163. I haven't looked at all the posts & such, but I've looked at all the videos. I posted on here that the bug-eyed screaming at the end of the brisket video seriously creeped me out. We have a saying in the south: "That boy ain't right." Seems to fit Lenny to a T.

    ReplyDelete
  164. That would be Alton, the King of the Triumverate, He was the ring leader of the Lenny circus.

    ReplyDelete
  165. But Lenny's past is not in the past. He continues in his nasty ways and revels in them.

    ReplyDelete
  166. She wants to have it both ways, Loving Lenny and Hating him at the same time. All she wants is attention and she goes with whatever is best in front of the camera at the time. She is revolting, and a card carrying member of the Alton Brown Fan Club. BTW, she does the same thing with him, too.

    ReplyDelete
  167. He shouldn't be the winner of Season 10. Therefore, he should not have a FN show.

    ReplyDelete
  168. If that 'shit' happened in the majority of workplaces, the person would be fired.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Not the minority of places I've worked. That's my point.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Lenny's eyes glaze over because the 20 voices in his head are telling him how to act, what to say, when to listen, when to ignore, and how to fool the audience with his phony cowboy persona. His brain is in a constant state of flux while he is trying to maintain his composure. He needs to have a crowd to bolster his self-image because, when it's just him one-on-one with the camera, the camera doesn't lie. Look at all of his babbling and blundering during his Pilot Pitch and his unedited Pilot with director Irvine. Lenny forgot that "the eyes are the window to one's soul". When I look at his eyes, and get a glimpse of his soul, I see Satan, the Devil. We know who Lenny has reincarnated himself as, and I don't want to watch this creep.

    ReplyDelete
  171. He could be cooking INSIDE the toilet bowl if it will at least eliminate the chopped show.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Actually, that is true. ZPZ agreed to do a series for Travel when it was owned by Cox. In the middle of that deal, Travel sold to Scripps. ZPZ opted to not renew and took the CNN deal. We're basically saying the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Is that not disgusting? I too saw the Advent calendar/toilet video and just thought why???

    ReplyDelete
  174. OMG, for the love of gawd, it was NOT a one-time comment from Paula Deen that got her fired. Read the dang pleadings and depositions and get educated about her pharmaceutical shilling, as well as her VULGAR antics at shows, and her groping of male guests. I'm so tired of trying to educate people about Paula Deen.
As to Lenny, YES, these people need to be vetted. Lenny is a PIG, plain and simple. FN needs to address it and remove him ASAP.

    ReplyDelete
  175. He speaks with an accent, but he speaks clearly. And clearly, you have other issues with him.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Thank gawd for you on this site.

    ReplyDelete
  177. If you think Paula Deen should not have been fired, you are direly misinformed and uneducated regarding everything involved.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Wow. Didn't like the guy to begin with and now this. This years FNS was a mess. Lenny will end up like Justin no doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  179. I'm pretty sure there is no respectfully in saying 'f*** Luca' and as for shy, I felt that he was speaking from the heart and was very sincere. I had no problems understanding him either and before you say anything, I am not Italian.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I thought it was funny!!

    ReplyDelete
  181. Speaking to friends doesn't excuse homophobia, misogyny or racism. That's not cursing, that's heinous.

If you endorse that, you're a jackass.

    ReplyDelete
  182. it's not what you say, it's how you say it

    ReplyDelete
  183. Durn tootin he will be more fun to watch.....even though the thought monitors be thinkin different like.

    ReplyDelete
  184. It's on Gawker now. Definitely mainstream.

The thing is, Lenny had Guy-levels of "star power," and I think the network is going to do whatever they can to turn Lenny into their new bankroll because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Unfortunately the restaurant has closed down, tonight was their last night. It's too bad because they had good food and good prices, we will miss the restaurant.

    ReplyDelete
  186. I think a hotel. As in a caveman theme place to sleep.

    ReplyDelete
