Lenny and his belly flop seemed to eat up the crowd and he got good ratings and was considered safe. Loreal, Luca, and Nicole were also safe from elimination.
The bottom three ended up being Sarah, Chris K (again), and Emma (again). The judges first let Emma know that she was safe, and then decided that Chris was the one that would be eliminated from Food Network Star. As there is no more Star Salvation, Chris is eliminated for good and will not be the next Food Network Star.
Ye gods, when are they going to get rid of Sarah?! Talk about entitled. She gets more obnoxious every episode. I truly don't understand why she gets so many THs. Her hair color is nicely done and attractive but, up close, she's really not even pretty, just heavily made up.
ReplyDeleteI use to like Sarah (sort of), but she's getting to be too much. She won't win though because a similar southern personality won last season.
ReplyDeleteGet rid of Sarah!!! Her POV keeps changing. First Date Night, then Texas. Last week, she made baby food. What does that have to do with Texas?!
ReplyDeleteEmma is obviously a nice person, but she puts me to sleep. I would never watch a single episode w/ her as the star.
ReplyDeleteGo Lenny!!! I would watch him!!!! He will go far.....there is so much more to him than just cooking good ole cowboy food.
ReplyDeleteFNS used to regularly have guest judges, including Anne Burrell, Ina Garten, and other FN stalwarts. This season, the only FN chef to guest judge has been Alex Guarnaschelli.
ReplyDeleteI also miss the camera challenges, which provided a true measure of how a contestant might fare at actually presenting a cooking show.
My inner conspiracy theorist is at work again. Latest thought: Sarah is being groomed to go into the finale as the villain no viewer will vote for. After all, we don't see much of anyone else's snark, and I'm sure others have had their share of nasty things to say.
ReplyDeleteNot that I like Sarah, but she is certainly getting the lion's share of the editing hatchet, and it's got to be with a purpose in mind.
I am really starting to wonder if FN has their thumb on the scales for Loreal. It's good that they took the contestants out of their ethnic comfort zone when describing food. However, two of the tree items the had the Butcher Babe describe contained beef. Really?
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, anyone else getting the vibe that Giada is in love with Luca? During the time Luca was describing food for Giada she was hungry and I don't think it was the food.
Does anyone think Sarah would have shared the beef if she got to it first? I don't think so.
Chris should have been gone a while ago. He has had issues with timing. Sarah needs to go too.
ReplyDeleteI actually thought the opposite- as Nicole said most of the people would not have known ham from prosciutto anyway. The judges also were way too hard on Emma who did not deserve to be in the bottom just bc the pool party guests were too lazy to make their own skewers.
ReplyDeleteToo bad they weren't both sent home in yesterday's episode.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Emma shouldn't have been on the bottom, and I think the judges made a bigger deal about Nicole's mistake than the situation merited.
ReplyDeleteFinally caught up on it - and I have to agree. She's completely gotten the villain edit. I won't mind when she's gone.
ReplyDeleteNot that Chris didn't deserve to go, but they should have eliminated Sarah instead. She is really nasty and doesn't deserve to be there. I'm putting it mildly when I say that I have had my fill of Loreal. The butcher babe needs to go onto the chopping block. The two I want to see in the finals are Emma and Lenny.
ReplyDeleteThat part annoyed me the most. She just assumed the dumb nitwits wouldn't know the difference? That's insulting.
ReplyDeleteThey rightfully called her out. At "best" she lied to them. At worst, she's an idiot when it turns out a foodie guest realizes she wasn't serving what she said she was.
ReplyDeleteEmma was on the bottle because she failed the second half of the challenge - making people enjoy her food. She wasn't in real danger of going, but we've reached the point where inevitably someone who might not have been in the bottom in an earlier ep is.
I don't think Sarah would have either. As for Loreal, she's had a few struggles and like you, I think they are playing to her strengths.
ReplyDeleteThey used to have Paula Deen as a guest judge....mmmmmm.....wonder what happened with her????
ReplyDeleteI agree that Sarah and Loreal need to go home. My favourites are Emma and Luca.
ReplyDeleteChris has had problems for a while and needed to go. Sarah hopefully is next. My favorites are Luca and Lenny. I just think Lenny knows what he's doing and yeah, he's kind of hokey, but he's funny too.
ReplyDeleteProsciutto is a type of ham, as is Serrano, which is what Nicole's original concept called for. Because it is less familiar to the general public, Serrano could easily be substituted with something like prosciutto with few noticing the difference.
ReplyDeleteEmma was on the bottle? I didn't think she was drunk.
ReplyDeleteDamn autocorrect. Maybe she should be though, it might help her loosen up! I think part of her problem at the challenge was she was relying on her presentation alone to get people to try her food; others were calling out and making a fuss to draw attention to their booths.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I'm sure if they did a double elimination, then Sarah would be gone as well. We can hope that this week coming up is the week they send Sarah packing and I hope her flip flops are made for walking. I'm predicting that the final three will be Luca, Lenny, and Emma.
