The Primetime Emmy nominations were announced today and the Food Network received one nomination. The nomination was for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives in the category of Outstanding Structured Reality Program. The show will be up against Antiques Roadshow, MythBusters, Shark Tank, Undercover Boss, and Who Do You Think You Are?
You may remember that in March, the Food Network held an event for Emmy voters, where they were trying to get 8 different shows nominated for Emmys in multiple categories. A commenter on that post said they attended the event, and it was basically a showcase for Guy Fieri. So, I guess their plan worked.
The Primetime Emmy Award winners will be announced on August 25th, and if you are interested in the full list of nominations, here they are.

There are no words for this.
ReplyDeleteThe space suit may have been uncomfortable for Reuban, but I can safely bet that many of the others could have a complaint or two about their scenes making them uncomfortable. I agree with Giada that Reuban seemed to be making excuses when he should have kept quiet and listened to their critique (kept what he could roll with and discard the rest)...like most people. I also think Nicole lost the wind in her sails because she had trouble with the assignment and judging from what they allowed us to view she did a lot of "takes" before her finished product. That would have played on and/or drained anyone's confidence. I was proud of her for holding it together. Sarah would have started bawling...in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteLenny can cook!
ReplyDeleteReuben posted on the Food Network boards and said he was sweating in that suit for half an hour. In addition, the packaging for his sauce wasn't what he had discussed with the designer, so that put him off his game as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nicole was criticized on the boards for the misspelling on her label—as if she were an idiot—even though it wasn't her fault, and she had tried to get it corrected. She came into her recording session already very down.
I'm not sure why she rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's that I am not a big fun of the original concept she had (date night). Maybe is that she is over exposed (not her fault). But she seems awfully big on herself.
ReplyDeleteHow embarrassing.
