Food Chain - New Food Network Show Now Casting

A new show called Food Chain is currently casting executive chefs/restaurant owners with "sterling reputations to defeat the industry elite."  It is another competition series with chefs competing head-to-head with a final showdown against a "renowned celebrity chef " for a chance to win $50,000.

Here are details posted on the Facebook page of the casting company:
"FOOD NETWORK is excited to bring you the culinary challenge of a lifetime. FOOD CHAIN, a groundbreaking new series, is sure to push even the most acclaimed professional chefs to the limit.

We’re seeking extraordinary executive chefs/restaurant owners with sterling reputations and the cutting-edge culinary knowledge, technique and creativity to defeat the industry elite.

If selected to compete, you will face increasing levels of difficulty as you battle head-to-head with the best-of-the-best. As the stakes rise so do the rewards. Make it through to the end and earn yourself a spot in the final showdown – a face-off against a renowned celebrity chef and the chance to win $50,000. It’s go big or go home.

From RELATIVITY TELEVISION, and the producers who brought you THE GREAT FOOD TRUCK RACE and GUY’S GROCERY GAMES, Food Chain requires expert knowledge, adaptability, and unwavering confidence. If you are an EXECUTIVE CHEF and think you have what it takes to rise to the top of the Food Chain, then contact us ASAP.

TO APPLY:
EMAIL US with your name, occupation, career highlights, resume, a photo of you and photos of 4 signature dishes. Please put your CITY/STATE in the subject line."

This show was not on the original list of new shows set to appear on the network this year, and it is also not known yet who the celebrity chef(s) will be.  When more details become available, there will be an update here.

Paula Deen was shopping this show back in 2012, and she was supposed to host it.  She was teamed with Zodiac production company, and now it appears that Relativity Television is producing it, so this might have changed hands after Paula Deen's racism scandal.

  1. Interesting seeing as how Bravo will soon be airing Top Chef: Duels, with former TC and TC Masters competing head to head.

Seems FN would run short of ideas if Bravo didn't get there first.

  2. I was going to say that this sounds like FN's version of Top Chef. I wonder who will host it. If it's someone with industry credibility, it might be a big success. If it's someone like Robert Irvine, it will not.

  3. Not only would they run short of ideas if Bravo didn't put the show out first, but then FN flogs it to death by changing up a decent show slightly and making it into 2 or 3 other shows just like it. I'd love a really new show that didn't involve games and had a new to FN host!

  8. This sounds exactly like NBC's new show "Food Fighters" with executive chefs instead of home cooks.
