He beat out Giada De Laurentiis, Rachael Ray, and April Bloomfield/Sean Brook in this category to win the Emmy.Giada De Laurentiis (Giada at Home) and Bobby Flay (Bobby Flay's Barbeque Addiction) lost to April Bloomfield/Sean Brook (The Mind of a Chef) in the Outstanding Culinary Program Category.
Giada In Paradise, which was a special on the Cooking Channel, took home 3 Emmy awards in the categories of Outstanding Special Class Directing, Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Photography, and Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Editing. The show won all 3 categories it was nominated for.
