Tootie's was featured on the latest season of Restaurant Impossible and you may remember part of the story line was her battling cancer. She has been hospitalized since shortly before the episode aired.Yesterday, she lost her battle with cancer and died at the age of 51. There was a candlelight vigil for her last night at the restaurant and she was remembered as a "bright light in the community."
There is no word on what this means for Tootie's, but the restaurant has been running for some time while she was in the hospital.
