A message from the restaurant's answering machine states:
"Bonjour! And thank you for calling the Rising Sun Bistro. We would like to thank you for being a part of Flathead Valley dining for over eight years and we have closed. Sally finally retired and the other owners have moved on. Thank you for so many great memories and we will have many to remember forever. We also actually have an opportunity for a restauranteur to come in and take over. It's a win-win situation. It's a great location, beautiful surroundings, and an entire restaurant that is ready to go. You can call 260-5595 if you have um any questions or would like more information. Thanks again."
The restaurant website pretty much says the same thing and it sounds like Sally plans to go to France.
This is the sixth restaurant from season 5 of Restaurant Impossible that has closed, and the Restaurant Impossible Update page has been updated to show this.
Seems like the only thing preventing a 50%+ failure rate are the new episodes.
ReplyDeleteThey better keep cranking them out!
Exactly... and they are.. They are still filming new ones and are over 100 episodes filmed.
ReplyDelete:Might be taxes"???? Or it could be an Alien Abduction! Do you read minds? You could have your own show..."The Mind-Readers of Camarillo Mental Hospital" ?
ReplyDeleteIf you are ever granted leave from the hospital.... please look me up. We'll have lunch.
ReplyDeleteI'm sick of all those shows like Restaurant Impossible, etc. Seems like that's all they can put on Food Network anymore. Also, although I really like Guy, I'm tired of his Triple D's, too. One after another of any show night after night is really monotonous.
ReplyDeleteOne of the very, very few times...I am actually pulling for the ones who need the assistance...,and in this case, I am pulling for this likable couple. The chef/owner actually knows how to cook, but he's inconsistent, and his wife has an idea, but they are both very green and inexperienced and that's to be expected since they are in their late 20s.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that refreshing....?...and here's to hoping that they will pull through/
ReplyDeleteI like watching Wrapped from time to time, just to see how products are manufactured. Then again, I have an interest in consumer psychology. I like Food Network Challenge more though.
ReplyDeletei didnt even know this place had been on RI untill i got there and mentioned that it looked alot different. i liked the place before, nothing fancy, i never went there expecting amazing texas bbq out of a business park location restaurant. i like the sauce the meat is good. nothing about it makes me want to jump up and down in excitement but it is good. people being negative about the food need to calm down a little and stop being such snobs "its not REAL bbq" no joke! but its still decent food. when i went they were out of some of the new items but did not say anything about not serving them. i would go back again for sure, the bottle wall is really awesome.
ReplyDeleteCrap place. Good riddance.
ReplyDeleteReally very disappointed in this season. Anne Burrell has been so blatantly pushing Jamie it is pathetic. This guy has been able to cook since the beginning and I think he is a ringer. He is way too knowledgeable to be a "worst' cook. My other problem is with Amber and her nails. I would love to see what would grow if they did a culture on them. I would not eat anything she prepared. I am an RN and I think it is really in poor taste to not have her at least wear gloves or ditch the nails until the show was over. Again, very disappointing season. I bet Jamie wins.
ReplyDeleteBiff, you're spot on in your assessment of many of these places that claim to be "BBQ". I totally respect your Texas pride, however, there's great authentic BBQ all over this amazing country!
ReplyDeleteWolfie, I totally agree with your assessment! For example "Bar Rescue", Jon Taffer puts in homework, (5) days and $ 250K (on average). That is dramatically more realistic to create "real change" and truly help these owners succeed.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you are blaming Robert and Restaurant Impossible for the restaurants who later fail, but Robert and his team gives them the tools they need to run a successful business and it is up to the owners to take those tools and use them to keep afloat. Failure lies directly with the owners.
ReplyDeletelocal news is stating the owner has passed away.
ReplyDeleteThe owner died yesterday sooo sad. She was a great lady who we will miss.
ReplyDeleteEileen passed away early in the morning of May 20, 2013 due to complications of her cancer. She was a very good family friend of mine and I miss her everyday. Rest In Peace Leenie.
ReplyDeleteEileen has passed away, actually......
ReplyDeleteYou're incredibly cruel, and as it turns out, she was telling the truth about everything
ReplyDeleteEileen recently passed away from cancer. I don't know you; I didn't know Eileen (aka Tootsie); but I've read your "Wolfie63" posts/comments upon on this website. I hope you go back and read them too. It paints the picture of an incredibly miserable, judgmental, negative individual. I feel sorry for you. You are clearly an unhappy person to express such negativity at every opportunity. I hope you think of Eileen the next time you consider posting hurtful comments about someone you've never met. I wish you the best.
ReplyDeleteI agree with u 100%...I actually just posted a very similar comment. Seems like ppl have no common sense. It really isn't something difficult to understand... the owners call R.I., its not the other war around...and they call why? CUZ THEY WERE ALREADY FAILING! MOST of the post show reviews of this place for example, say that all the things Robert (the show) tried to point out were the reason(s)they were failing, are(were) still EXACTLY what was happening.
ReplyDelete*SLOW service *UNCOOKED dough on quiches etc. The same complaints over&over and the very same things Roberts told them would continue to cause them to fail.
Who's at fault for those things? Certainly NOT Robert(or R.I.).
I'm reading that Tootsies is closed now. Can anyone confirm that?
