'Rewrapped' - New Food Network Competition Show

Photo - Twitter
The Food Network is currently filming a new show that will be called Rewrapped.  The show is a spin-off of the long running show Unwrapped that was hosted by Marc Summers and has aired on the Food Network since 2001.

They were casting for Rewrapped back in November, and filming just started yesterday.  Marc Summers has posted a few pictures on Twitter of the filming of the show, which reveal a bit more information about it.  Joey Fatone is the host of the show, while Marc will be the head judge of every episode.

The show will be a competition type show, where competitors will try to recreate popular food products (think of the type of things that appeared on Unwrapped).  There will be a judging panel that determines who did the best job, and that person will be determined the winner of the episode.  Each episode will have a different food product and different competitors.  The winner of every episode will supposedly win a year's supply of the food product that they recreated, and look for the show to begin airing in early Spring.

Joey Fatone is the 2nd celebrity from Rachael vs. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off to turn an appearance on that show into a hosting gig (Dean McDermott is the host of Chopped Canada).  Also, from the picture above, you see that Katie Lee will be judging an episode of the show.  She will also be a judge on the upcoming series Beat Bobby Flay.  It appears that besides being on The Kitchen, Katie Lee will be appearing on the Food Network regularly.

  1. But do we really want someone recreating Velveeta. And then getting stuck with a year's supply of it?

  2. This looks rather interesting. I love Marc Summers. I had never heard of Joey Fatone before Rachael vs.Guy but I liked him on that show and the couple times I've seen him since. I do not like Katie Lee so I hope she won't be a regular. I don't recognize the woman next to Joey.

  3. Omg! Wouldn't you have thought that after all of the comments from so many people in so many threads that Food Network would have gotten the message the people are sick of DDD re-runs and endless competitions?? But nnooooo! Now they come at us with yet another one. And even worse, of all they things they could have picked...UNWRAPPED was probably THE single worst show they've ever done, or maybe cupcake wars. Do we really care how tootsie-pops are made? Will they ever learn? It looks like the won't. Count me out. I'll just DVR or watch 4 or 5 shows that actually cook and forget the rest. Too bad that there's getting to be more and more to--forget.

  4. That was my thought. Who wants to win a year's supply of [whatever]? Doesn't sound like a good prize to me. Worst of all, I bet this isn't costing FN anything, they are getting the companies to pay for it in exchange for showcasing the product. Yuck.

  5. Now watch. Some execs will write us off and say the old days are gone and we all must embrace innovation. Yeah, right. Meanwhile, more people switch over to the cooking channel or even stop watching altogether and on top of that, the ratings have gone down. Food Network needs to *be* a Food Network after 7pm., not a game show network. Less reality, more cooking.

  6. I loved Unwrapped! I wish this show was going to do more of that... recreating items - I just don't see how that will work. Recreating Velveeta - let's certainly hope not!

  7. Lucy, I agree. I'm looking forward to giving this one a shot.

  8. God, enough with the food competitions. Can we just have good shows about cooking??

  9. Not everyone would agree. I've liked to see how things are made/done since I was a little kid and I loved Unwrapped for that reason. Also, I really like Marc Summers.

  10. Agreed. I loved Unwrapped, although this doesn't really sound anything like it.

  11. Jesus, I wasn't sure if that was Fabio or Joey Fatone. JF, for what it is worth, isn't *that* horrible (not saying he's really a qualified foodie, just... you know).

But nevertheless, enough with these competitions. Please, do an evening Ina or Ina-like show.

  15. If you look at FN ratings, their competition shows have significantly higher ratings than any of the cooking shows - over 1 million for competition, nary a cooking show reaches 1 million viewers. When FN was doing mostly cooking shows in the beginning, they were losing money. Once they switched formats to include more competition shows, they started making money. It's all about the $$$. It's not PBS

  16. Oh, no, bad cleavage! You shouldn't be looking at this, little Johnnie, you're too young! Here, go play some GTA V instead and murder a bunch of innocent people. That's acceptable in America, boobs are not!

  17. I wish the producers reverted back to the "In The Kitchen" and "FN at night" formatting. It gives home cooks a chance to learn new tricks and recipes in the morning plus afternoon while still pleasing reality competitions, restaurant rescuing, and Good Eats/Unwrapped-stule food info lovers in the evening and dark.

  20. I definitely won't watch this. Joey Fatone is a douche nozzle and I'm bored with competitions.

  21. If I were a cute set or a sexier offering fine but these hideous little nuggets are dangling from her collarbone. Odd looking at best and for the FoodNetwork, a little distastefully sensationalistic.

  22. Looks like someone didn't use enough baking powder to help them rise.

  23. Oh for heaven sakes! Let the woman breathe! We're all built unique! Nice to see a confidant woman that's not in cookie cutter form. Relax people! It's just boobs !

  24. Joey's Fatone's cooking show is really fun. If you get the Live Well Network, he is the host of My Family Recipe Rocks.

  25. Very unattractive. Please remove out of respect fora terrific lady

  26. I was disappointed that she felt she had to show her boobs like that - no confidence anymore? Did she think that would help her ratings......changed my opinion of her and lost my interest to watch her.....where it that authentic woman we used to love??

  27. Puhleeze! RR does NOT possess "DD's"! No need to show "nibblets"!

  28. I'll be tuning in to watch this. Doesn't look like a show that will be renewed for a second season, but entertaining nonetheless. Joey and food shows have been a lovely combo lately =)

  29. Ray Ray just needs to except that when it comes to T&A she is lacking in the T department but more than makes up for it in the A department (Much better IMO). She needs to stop wearing those Black/Dark pants & wear tight light/regular color jeans, stick with what works! It would make any show she is on more enjoyable..

  30. I agree with the majority here about these senseless competition shows. Who would go through all this on Rewrapped for a years supply of Swiss Miss Pudding cups? I totally lost confidence in these shows when Gregory Zakarian won Next Iron Chef and became a judge for that same show. Who won? Chef Alex from Chopped, who also was Zakarians sous chef on Iron Chef and fellow judge on Chopped. How about those judges from Chopped competing against other high profile chefs?.... they always win, no matter how many mistakes they made during the show. I don't believe for a minute that the judge on Cutthroat kitchen have no idea who to get rid of, hint. The one with the most money is the one to go.
I will absolutely die if I had to ever watch DDD again.
