This is reminiscent of Paula Deen cooking fatty and buttery foods, then linking up with Novo Nordisk to promote diabetes products. Guy Fieri cooks foods that will give you heartburn, and now is pushing Rolaids to the American public. A match made in heaven.
Video of the Rolaids commercials featuring Guy Fieri are after the jump.
Seriously, none of his PR team thought this was a bad idea? Are they trying to drive people away from his restaurants?
ReplyDeleteI've not seen any evidence up to this point that Team Guy says no to anything. In fact it seems like no Food Network star says no to anything. It must be in their contracts to accept any and every endorsement opportunity they are offered.
ReplyDeleteBottom line: smart move for Rolaids, your move Tums.
Guy gives me heartburn, never mind his cooking!
ReplyDeleteGuy causes people to need antacids. Strange move to pick Guy as spokesperson. Like Phillip Morris doing cancer treatment commercials.
ReplyDeleteIs there medication one can take for being exposed to "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives"?
ReplyDeleteOne would hope the food alone would drive people away :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like Guy's people are here downvoting anything negative :o
ReplyDeleteThe most natural fit ever, as most of his "cuisine" likely gives people indigestion!
ReplyDeleteJust ask the New York Times!
ReplyDeleteThe objective of being a Celebrity Chef is to be a celebrity much more than a chef. It's personality over food. All of it is just entertainment that happens to involve food.
ReplyDeleteSo, all these people who land the big job are going to make as much money as possible, as quickly as possible. Next, Fieri will be probably selling tires!
Yes! Turning it off. :-)
ReplyDeleteNext, Michael Symon becoming a spokesman for Rogaine.
ReplyDeleteHe's already sold health insurance, so why not tires?
ReplyDeleteRolaids...
