Guy Fieri is set to be the host of the new Food Network show Guy's Grocery Games, which is scheduled to premiere in October.
The description from the upcoming series of 2013 on Food Network describes Grocery Games as:
Sounds a bit like Supermarket Sweep (videos of the show are on YouTube), but instead of questions at the beginning of the show, they do cooking challenges. Guy has experience hosting game shows with his Minute To Win It background, so look out Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek.
UPDATE - The premiere date is October 20th, and here are some of the judges that will be on the show.
The description from the upcoming series of 2013 on Food Network describes Grocery Games as:
"Four talented chefs compete in supermarket-themed cooking challenges as they must navigate their way through the aisles, adhering to “real-world” challenges of shopping on a budget, substituting out-of-stock ingredients, and cooking (and checking out) with five items or less. In the end, the food does the talking, as one-by-one the losing chefs are “bagged,” and the last chef standing goes on the shopping spree of a lifetime to make big bucks."Despite originally being called Grocery Games, the Food Network has now renamed it to Guy's Grocery Games on the Food Network Ad Sales website, so it is pretty safe to say that Guy Fieri will be the host of it.

ReplyDelete*eye roll* No thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnother desperate attempt to make us all love Guy. No thanks
ReplyDeleteCan we NOT have the GUY network?
ReplyDeleteThere's something about this that just sounds...patronizing somehow. Like cooking with "real world" circumstances shouldn't be a challenge. Also: still over Guy.
ReplyDeleteThey're working on making it the Guy and Rodney network.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry can't the food network come up with original shows..... Ever?
ReplyDeleteA bit torn- I liked Supermarket Sweep growing up but don't need to see one more second of Guy on tv.
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a DD&Dives Network. Just saw the beginning of Next FN Star and Nikki is 6 months pregnant. They must of figured out she was pregnant and that is the reason why they dropped her. They didn't want her pregnant while taping pilot and having to worry about her maternity leave. Daramaus Mohawk is very tame. ahh
ReplyDeleteThere is a DDD network. It used to be called "Food Network" :P
ReplyDeleteI liked Supermarket Sweep, and this show sounds like it would be more enjoyable than DDD.
ReplyDeleteMatt, that is funny!
ReplyDeleteCannot stand the looks and especially the voice of guy Fieri. The tattoos, crazy hair etc. what do you see in him that you have to put him in so many shows?when are you going to replace him so I can watch and enjoy foot network. never watch when he is on.
ReplyDeleteI've had enough of Guy. He's not that entertaining that he needs to be on all the time!
ReplyDeleteI love Guy, he is real!
ReplyDeleteWas also wondering how to get on the show.
ReplyDeleteThis show is just out right boring, sounds likes he really wants to be done with the traveling portion of DDD? Just keep doin triple d, you're not good with much else.
ReplyDeleteFood Network keeps showing repeats of this horrible show, take it down now as they did with the "The Shed"!!!!!
ReplyDeletereal what?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, he's not so real..he's basically told what to say on DDD about the food. I've heard from someone whose restaurant was on the show that he does not have a refined palate, to say the least
