Tonight on Food Network Star, the remaining contestants had to
use a unique ingredient to create a dish, and then had to auction off their dish to a room full of 'adventurous eaters.' The finalist who sells their dish at the highest price is safe from elimination for this round.
Continue reading to see who went home tonight. Also, after the jump is the fourth and final episode of Star Salvation, where Lovely will compete against the eliminated contestant. I will also have who was eliminated from Star Salvation:
The contestant who auctioned their dish off for the most money was Stacey Poon-Kinney and she was safe from elimination. That left a bottom two of Chad and Russell. After deliberation, the judges decided to eliminate Chad from the competition.
Chad Rosenthal then went on to compete against Lovely in Star Salvation, and the video of that is below. If you were wanting to know who won Star Salvation, you will have to wait until they re-enter the competition, so not sure what the point of this episode was.
What were your thoughts on the episode tonight and about who was eliminated? Hard to take the show seriously, but the unintentional comedy makes it worth it I guess.

I like Stacy, but Damaris is my favorite. Nikki did a good job, but quirky is what's needed. Russell is a train wreck and Rodney is Rodney, but he's painful to watch. Too bad he made a great pie.
ReplyDeleteDamaris is my absolute favorite! I was really hoping Rodney was going to be the one to go... if no one can understand what you're doing, how are you going to succeed on TV?
ReplyDeleteDoes it bother anyone else that there is almost no point to Star Salvation? FNS is about promoting yourself and your food and being likable in addition to being a good cook but Star Salvation is all about how their food tastes. Kind of negates the whole point of the show though I do think if Lovely is back in, she has what it takes, for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat and the ONLY time someone has escaped Last Chance Kitchen on Top Chef was when someone got unjustly booted early in the season. Lovely was not. I can't imagine her making it past that episode. They thing it brings up the show, but it does nothing.
ReplyDeleteThe part about tasting Bobby Flay's food and describing it is the closest to the show they will finally get. Justin from last year was an interesting chef. But he gets a Guy Fieri type show going around tasting other chef's food.
ReplyDeleteIf I was on FNS I wouldn't make anything. I'd just taste the other contestant's food and smack my lips to show how great it is.
The show seems to be pretty much focusing on Stacey as the winner it seems, or who they expect at least. Just feels like the show is "going through the motions". Speaking of Justin when will his show actually air other than a special?
ReplyDeleteI am so done with this season. It seems INCREDIBLY obvious that they are setting up Stacy to win. And that Lovely woman too...for pretty obvious reasons as well.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Alton that Russell over-rates his cooking ability. I'd have been equally happy to see either him or Chad go. And Rodney has worn out his welcome. Jeff Mauro is the Sandwich King, but he proved he has a full skill set besides sandwiches. We've seen nothing but pies from Rodney, and most of them weren't even particularly good pies.
ReplyDeleteI now want to watch Brunch with Bobby and Giada at Home and count how many times they say wonderful, delicious, great, or any of the other words they dinged people on last night. Alton barely describes his food on Good Eats, it's all about the trivia for him.
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely setting up a Stacey/Nikki final. This season has had way more cannon fodder than usual. Previous seasons at least had about 5 people that you could honestly see having a shot at winning, this year saying three qualify is being generous.
ReplyDeleteIf Stacey wins I hope they rerun her Restaurant Impossible episode right after so we can all revel in how ridiculous this has become.
I don't believe there's a real problem using the occasional "crutch" word as long as such words don't become one's entire vocabulary. It was made harder for the contestants because it was a challenge to see what descriptive powers each possessed..
ReplyDeleteExactly. This whole segment made me furious. It was like watching someone use a shock collar on a dog, with similar results: the more they got "shocked," the harder it was to focus and go on.
