Iron Chef America is the next brand looking to capitalize on the frozen food industry. A press release put out today announced a frozen food line called 'À La Cuisine' that will be in US supermarkets soon. There are currently 8 different frozen meal kits that include: Butter
Chicken, Spicy Szechuan Chicken, Chicken Garam Masala, Sweet & Sour
Chicken,
Sesame Beef, Mongolian Beef, Thai Green Curry Beef, and Mandarin
Orange Beef.
According to the website set up for the meals, they are not created by an Iron Chef, but rather inspired by Iron Chefs. A chef named Anthony created the meals, and judging by the 8 flavors above, he only watched battle chicken and battle beef.
It looks like Ina Garten will have some competition for her Barefoot Contessa frozen meals.

set for you to cook and feed four in as little as 12 minutes. The
product line features an assortment of flavors such as Garam Masala

nutritional value.
"ICA is the main source of inspiration. The chefs are impressive.
Foodies like myself are hooked," says Anthony J. Elman , Premier Meat
Packers - Senior VP of Sales & Marketing. "People love a bold and
delicious dish. We felt the need to supply them with varied meal kit
essentials, inspired by Iron Chefs. À La Cuisine caters to people's
cravings. We also designed two introductory sweeter flavors. It's food
they can conveniently and quickly cook up. This is a product people can
identify with."
The ICA home meal kits brand has already claimed shelf space across
Canada and is rising at an exponential rate in the US.
The company is also developing product extensions. Hors D'oeuvres are
underway and expected to hit shelves shortly. Iron Chef America brand

But it's not "a la cuisine." It's "allez cuisine!"
ReplyDeleteThis is just weird to me. If no Iron Chefs are developing the meals then why bother. Why not just release Food Network branded meals instead?
