I think "Bobby Flay's BBQ Addiction" won last year, right? It's a perfectly fine show, but I don't understand why it gets nominated. Same for "Trisha's Southern Kitchen," which follows the same format as a dozen other shows and has no particular production value that sets it apart. It's a fine show, but it's not even food p*rn like "Barefoot Contessa" or Giada's shows (which deserve their multiple technical nominations every year).
ReplyDeleteSide note: Apart from Guy Fieri's nominated special, two other former "Food Network Star" contestants are up for Culinary Host: Nathan Lyon (season two) and Kelsey Nixon (season four). (Jeff Mauro was nominated last year for "Sandwich King"). I know WAY too much about this...
haha, yeah, you are right with Bobby Flay and Jeff Mauro being nominated last year. I dug up an old post: http://www.foodnetworkgossip.com/2012/05/giada-receives-5-daytime-emmy.html
