Here is something pretty interesting from an article from the Honolulu Pulse. The show actually reached out to Fred DeAngelo, and offered to help find him an executive chef as they knew he was busy with running two restaurants. Perhaps they wanted to go on a trip to Hawaii?
At the end of the article, Fred says, “We really were looking for someone to be part of our family, and we’re really happy with our choice.”
So, it looks like the winning chef will probably end up working at the restaurant in this episode. I will update this post with the winning chef after the episode airs.
Chef Casey Barnes was the winning chef and 'recently got engaged to his girlfriend and is ready to move to Hawaii to start fresh with this new job.'
Chef Casey gets to leave the hustle and bustle of LA into the chillaxed environment of Hawaii. Looks like a good fit for him. Hope the other chefs get a shot at something great too!
ReplyDeleteI travel to Oahu at least once a year and always spend most of my time on the North Shore. Ola is one of my very favorite restaurants and my last visit was just a month after the airing of Chef Wanted for the Ola restaurant. I was sad to see some of my favorite menu items were gone, but the current menu is exciting and everything we tried was delicious. My favorite was the grilled octopus. OMG, soooo good! Totally worth the airfare and travel time to go back and eat it again.
ReplyDeleteI live on Oahu Yeah haha
