Although not on the Food Network, tonight was the finale of Best Sandwich in America. Think Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives meets the Sandwich King with Adam Richman hosting. There were 10 finalists representing different areas of the country and 2 additional wildcards for a total of 12 sandwiches.

Northeast: DiNic’s - Philadelphia, PA - Roast Pork Sandwich
South: Zunzi’s - Savannah, GA - Chicken Conquistador Sandwich
Midwest: Al’s Italian Beef - Chicago, IL - Italian Beef Sandwich
New England: The Galley Restaurant & Pub - Naples, ME - Lobster Roll
Northwest: Big-Ass Sandwiches - Portland, OR - Roast Beef Sandwich
West Coast: Phil’s BBQ - San Diego, CA - BBQ Tri-Tip Sandwich
Southwest: The Noble Pig - Austin, TX - Seared Beef Tongue Sandwich
Gulf Coast: Domilise’s Po-Boy and Bar - New Orleans, LA - Shrimp Po-Boy
Great Lakes: Slow’s Bar-BQ - Detroit, MI - Smoked Chicken Sandwich
Mid Atlantic: The Black Sheep - Richmond, VA - Fried Chicken Liver Sandwich
Wildcard: John's Roast Pork - Philadelphia, PA - Cheesesteak with Sharp Provolone
Wildcard: Olio - Jacksonville, FL - Duck Confit Grilled Cheese
Then, these 12 sandwiches were narrowed down to 6 for the final 3 match-ups.
Final 6 Restaurants - Slow's Bar-BQ, The Noble Pig, John's Roast Pork, Zunzi's, DiNic's, and Al's Italian Beef
The final 3 were then established by eliminating 3 additional sandwiches, and the final 3: Slow's Bar-BQ's Smoked Chicken Sandwich(Yardbird), Zunzi's Chicken Conquistador, and DiNic's Roast Pork.
Adam then had each of the restaurants prepare their sandwich one final time for the final taste test. After all 3 sandwiches were tasted, Adam crowned DiNic's Roast Pork Sandwich the Best Sandwich in America. The sandwich is pictured above and has roast pork, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone.
