The final chef eliminated was Won Kim. Chef Won Kim has a video of his audition for the show on youtube if you are interested. Won was eliminated after his dinner service had more problems than Lisa Odom. Lisa was able to impress the owner enough, and was declared the winner and offered the executive chef job at MET Back Bay.
The only chef with information on the casting website this week was Lisa Odom. Lisa is Korean and was adopted and raised by an American family in San Francisco. She was an account executive at Yahoo.com before entering culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu. After graduating culinary school she worked with Chef Jamie Derosa at several restaurants including Geoffrey Zakarian's Tudor House in Miami, Florida.
I called MET Back Bay today to ask if the winner of Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell was still working there, and was told "No, unfortunately they are not." So it looks like Lisa Odom is not working at MET Back Bay right now.
I worked with Lisa at Morimoto and she was awful, this is a total discredit to reality cooking shows. LOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteSucks to hear. The London burger she made and her menu looked awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this show's track record now? 0-for-6?
ReplyDeleteShe is an amazing chef. Pleasure to work with.
ReplyDeleteOf course the chefs are not working at these restaurants as this is the stupidest way to hire a real chef. This is more a fantasy show than reality.
ReplyDeleteinteresting, i am going to boston next week and was going to make reservations at MET Black Bay for that reason...since the chef is no longer there, I'll pass
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea why it didn't work out for Richard?
ReplyDeleteHis name was Richard Mancini, and nope, he is no longer there.
ReplyDeleteI checked the menu at Old Homestead Steak House in Manhattan and the winner of "Chef Wanted" for that restaurant is not listed as the Executive Chef. Is he no longer there? His name was Ralph something.
ReplyDeletethese shows are for entertainment, not so much to promote the actual restaurants. and this is quite evident in this case as the Met makes no mention of their being featured on the Food network. probably due to embarrassment. I am LESS likely to eat there after having seen this episode, though I've been there on several occasions.
